Two Types of Meta

I want to know witch type of meta tags from this two is the best.Any why ..

I only ever uses the first, because the rest of the tags seem useless to me.

nope, that tell the robot that they can visit with the next 24 hours of there first visit.


example domain.com gets spidered 2/4 times a day, dues to its constantly updating news etc, if you add that tag it tells the robots that i only want to be spidered once a day.

 

#1 and even the use of the Meta KWs is debate-able

 

Meta keywords are only going to work in MSN and yahoo (a bit). For a new site that may be worth it though.
Title and description tags are essential. I personally do author as well, mainly because NVU makes it so easy to add. But it's certainly not necessary. Same with all those others: won't do a darn thing.

 

I agree, 1., after reading a similar post yesterday.

 

I'd keep this if I had a heavy website and would want to save bandwidth by limiting googlebots and the like to 1 visit per day.
I would however prefer doing so via robots.txt instead.

 

#1, #2 is a total waste of time and space.

 

To me, #1 is closer to being "best", but I'd really like to see the TITLE tag used. It's seo-friendly as well as a help to anyone who bookmarks your page. Likewise, your ROBOTS tag is superfluous, but a good one (or separate file) can be essential. I don't have first-hand knowledge of the CONTENT-LANGUAGE tag, but believe it may also have significance for sites with more global appeal.

For those of us battling outdated DMOZ-sourced snippets, I'd also recommend the new NOODP tag. It's a very effective tool for regaining control of your SERP's.

How do you know it doesn't effect your ranks?

 

Only controls actility of googlebots, other robots will not be affected.

Google spiders way more sites, way more often. Other sites bandwidth uses are almost insignificant at my sites, but Google is always on my site.
