Thanks for the word Web Gazelle. There are quite a few more than there were a few years ago.

You inspired me to tackle the list. I added another 100 and moved a whole bunch from free to paid.

Still more to go. I am always appreciative of any coments on the directories listed. If there are any that are no longer free then please let me know.

 

I used to wonder if submitting to directories was worth it but recent success in getting a site to show up in Google has showed me that it is worth it.

I think you need to update the pagerank of the directories as most of them showing very old page rank. I remember seeing a mod at phpld for that.

 

Thanks for your comment. I have run a script previously and all the PR should be up-to-date. I have done another check of some sites and the ones I checked have correct PR.

Would you have any examples that I can check? Is it possible that the Toolbar PR was different in your part of the world (shifting datacenters) when you checked?

So what is happening with PR over the last couple of days??

Should I update the PR numbers again or wait a couple of days.

 

What you should do is make the script update itself when the need arises. Talking about automatisation like in my DirStats list

 

I don't think that would work best for me. During a normal PR update, a datacenter's PR jumps back in forth to "new PR", "previous PR" and "prior to previous PR". I always prefer to move forward and not back to 5 month old PR.

Does you method keep changing everytime it bounces? or does it work in a more effective way?

 

Judging by your requests, I am getting the impression that directory owners like sitewide links so I opened up sitewide link ads in all categories. See web-directories.ws advertising.
