Hello all. Post about your first websites ever and also about your first profitable site. What it was about, what it was called and if it still exists.

I am actually brainstorming ideas to create my second website ever and am looking for ideas for something fun that I can learn from.

My first website is a paintball forum called Paintball Addict. It is not too popular or profitable but I love working with it. It still exists at www.pb-addict.com

www.icarusindie.com is a site about nothing. I just threw whatever I wanted onto it. Mostly it was programming related.

Now it's being dismantled and reassembled over at http://www.dawnofthegeeks.com

icarusindie will finally be a real business web-site.

My first is a general chat forum
    http://harro.sin.khk.be
Gets a nice amount of traffic, but the forum is pretty dead lately.
Not bothering to revive it though.
It's hosted in our school and will loose the hosting next year. And got no plans to keep it after that.

my first one was a guitar review website...it is actually still up, but not as profitable...my most profitable one I don't advertise...since it brings in 90% of my income.

Is it through CPA? I can't see bringing in a considerable amount of money through adsense that easily.

First site is my current humor blog: Say no to Crack. Working on building traffic before making money, so far so good.

Cost per action, or affiliate ads. They can earn much higher commissions, but the person must complete a sale after clicking the ad.

My first site was a school project for an imaginary band. Sadly no longer online. The oldest online webpage that I have is one of my first online portfolios from 2002.

My first website as a such.. was a pet - rock selling website, believe it or not.
It was never really profiteable and never really an intrest of mine.
My first real intrest and project that I invested my own time and money into was a success.. and to this day my favorite website.

So was mine! I had a site that was dedicated to tropical fish. My username was drcolosuss, after the simpsons character.

I think it's gone now as well :(

Ah, this answers the question I just asked you in your pm. I remember pbvids from when it first started... almost.

I used to compare the progress of my site against yours but eventually yours took off so fast it made no sense anymore  :p
