    how come there's a lot of domains from 22/23 january already taken?

    The domains from the 23rd haven't dropped yet, hence they're still registered. The ones that dropped today have probably been snatched up already by some "domain tasters"...

    Seriously, I don't know in detail how the backorder services work, but I guess it's all about timing and some nice hardware/software.

    Guys and Gals,
    Before you buy any domain based on PR from drophunt and similar site, make sure to check the PR using fake PR checker tools. (Eg; seolog's tool)
    Many of the PR4 and PR5 domains I found on drophunt is no loger got PR.
