RSS feeds of any help

    If you have one or several properly maintained and validated RSS feed and submit each of your RSS feed with its own homepages to all major RSS directories, then you get some 50-100 high PR backlinks from each directory to each RSS-feed-homepage

    hence to answer your question
    if you use RSS feed all the way and submit / ping to each feed directory, then RSS feed bring

    1. a considerable quantity of additional generic traffic
    2. give you generic high PR backlinks

    = YES RSS feeds are of multiple real value to every site owner !
    meanwhile I maintain 5 feeds, 2 autocreated (blog and photo-gallery) and 3 manually created/edited and I can recommend all to use feeds
