So, there are loads of tips on this forum, which would you reccomend somone to do. Mine is to put adsense above the content as this gets the most views. Please try not to repeat the same tip twice. Say what works for you.
If AdSense isn't the priority, put it on or below the fold. Give them a chance to evaluate your site and offering. Then if they have read it they'll come across the ads and decide whether to use it as an exit channel or to discard it and keep using your site.
Match the style of the ads served by Adsense to blend in with your own site's style as best as possible.
Use ads sparingly but wisely. Don't just plaster 3 leaderboards or block ads on your site. Use smaller formats and place them strategically.
If you should use only one ad format on page make shure that it is 336x280. Not measured by me. I changed to this format and my clicks go from 5-10% to 20%. Also page content is redesigned for this format.
great thread, SHT anyway, study the heat map carefully. if you have a two column layout with content on the left and nav with google ads on the right, it pays to switch that around. ads on the left will significantly increase your ctr
Research the top paying keywords, then load a page full of 'em and throw in adsense left and right...just kidding. Create separate channels for each page so that you can see which of the pages on your site are actually being clicked the most as well as which words pay the most. That way you can focus on adding content to those areas. You can't improve upon what you can't track. -Brian Renner
Few tips: - Never alter your content to specifically suit adsense, i.e. please don't overload with keywords. Let your content be in original state. - Images on top do well with adsense and make the site even look better. - Be true to adsense, i.e. no false impressions or false clicks Wish you all the best!
test, test and test again. Don't stick to one kind of ad unit or color. Try one, then test another to see which gets better results. Then test that one with another and see which of those gets better results, and so on and so forth. There's always room for improvement. Unless you get 100% CTR! Cassie
I have found that if I reduce the number of ads appearing on a single page that my CTR and CPM both went up nicely. I first went from 12 ads to eight kaching... Then I went from 8 ads to 4 kaching... The 4 ads that are left are getting incredible CPM and better CTR
find out who your targetted visiters are gonna be, kids like ads more than teens, and teens like ads more than adults. So if your site is targetting mainly adults you might wanna blend the ads in with the content but if your advertising to kids use nice bright colours (use the color schemes to ur advantage) and place them whereever kids are most likely gonna be looking @
Try different places and formats for your ad and evaluate. What works for my site doesn't have to work for your site.
What I have done is have adsense integrate with the color and fill of my site. I have also gotten great results with putting the adsense block right below my menu options. My menu options are lined up from right to left below my logo.

Use the same default standard blue for your adsense links that are used in HTML links...(on a white background). Users are used to identifying blue as a hyperlink and they are more likely to click them. Also, keep the amount of links on the page to a minimum. The less links besides Adsense on your page, the more likely they will click the Adsense links.
Blend it in with your menu/ navigation bar. When visitors think it's your website's menu/ navigation bar, they will most likely click on it.
Try adlinks, I have 2 adlink units each doing around $10 a day where before I had regular adsense getting just a few dollars.
Nice use of the Adlinks at the top of your Planter Wart page. I may implement that technique on some of my sites. They look like navigation links.
