Starting affiliate site

    I'm looking to start a site that basically looks like a store, and sells a certain brand of products, but from a few different affiliates. One of them is amazon, and there are a few other stores that carry this brand that I would like to have listen on my "store". Does anyone have any suggestions for this? OScommerce?

    What would you need OScommerce for ? Maybe I don't clearly understand your question but why not just link to your affiliate links after you present the products to your audience ?

    Well, I picked up a great domain name, that would make users think its a store. So I think if they showed up to a site that looked more like a store they would be more inclined to buy something. If it were just a regular page with links it might seem too obvious that its an affiliate site. My host has OScommerce as an easy install, so I figured that would be an easy way to organize things and make it look decent. I wouldn't need a cart or anything though.

    But you do not need a cart if you are using affiliates, and I can't imagine how you would use the cart in this manner. If you are going to sell books for Amazon you should see CoverToCoverAudio.com in my signature. As an affiliate, you can sell audio books with Direct Sell links....makes it look like your customer has never left your site.

    I know, I said I don't need a cart. I just figured that maybe using something like oscommerce would allow me to organize the site better, and make it look a little more professional. I'm not selling books, its a specific brand that amazon carries, as well as a few other sites.

    Yes, I understood you, but OSCommerce IS a cart system. I know. I have built a few sites using it. I believe you will be wasting your time using OSCommerce to "organize" your site. You would be much better off with something like XSitePro.

    You should be able to do what you're describing with one of the open source content management systems. Drupal could do it for instance, although it has a steep learning curve, and theres likely easier solutions around.
