ebay.in not accecpting paypal!

I am hardly into ebay but last time i paid someone by COD at ebay.in was atleast 1-2yrs back.

Ebay.com almost every seller accepts paypal, but seems like at ebay.in u'l not find anyone accepting paypal.. no one!

When will people start knowing the importance of online payments! :(

What can be the reason? Is it that majority of Indian sellers are unaware about paypal, or is it that ebay.in is not trying to promote paypal! ?

You must be kidding me mate. That's real funny (Paypal not supporting India IMO). For your kind information India has paypal support
I'm not sure humm what could be the reason but my thinking on this is that Indian People don't trust paypal much.

You can only use PaisaPay/Credit Cards on the Indian version of the website.

It is an ebay trend. Wherever they move they buy the best possible services and make people use it.
They bought bazee & paisapay and started ebay.in.
Also, there are issues with paypal, because in India you cannot have an US$ account unless you are an NRI.
I mean you can send money from US to India, but the reverse without showing reason(like going/studying to US) is illegal.
So common people will not be able to use. it.
This is what I understand the reason.

PayPal has yet to be accepted by Indian merchants ...
afterall, 95+% of the buyers wont be having a PayPal acount , in india .. it's just people like us, the webmasters or some one with international payments have a PP account

Easy way to get your answer would be to email ebay.in and ask them im sure they will give you a good answer.

The real reason is that you cannot spend foreign exchange(US dollars) that is buying for an Indian itme from an Indian buyer

I think paypal may not never support ebay.in but it would be good if they interconncet international paypal account of Indian buyers with some thing locally

Isnt the paypal support to Indians basic, cant transfer to bank etc? Maybe thats why less use it when they can use an alternative which allows them to transfer direct to bank.

Once PayPal has its own centre in India, there are high chances thay they might consider adding INR as a currency.

And then maybe, ebay.in would have PayPal support instead of PaisaPay.
