I see a lot of threads that say "high traffic", but what amount of visitor is considered as high traffic (per day)?

Also why we are here what would say 300 unique a day be considered as?

30k unique hits per day is very much and really good traffic and can really make anyone site pr high too.

What is considered "high" etc depends on the niche a lot.

A site about say, er, the World Cup only getting 300 a day is pretty low. A site about something more obscure like ... um ... Frog migratory patterns and best practices getting 300 a day could be a lot.

This is reflected in the prices advertisers are willing to pay too.

i guess it depends on the "type" of traffic your receiving, 300 REAL people to your website is obviously better than 10K automated hits..

I think when just-4-teens said "high traffic", he meant it in general. :) And 300 unique visitors is indeed considered as low traffic.

Well, i have never had a site that gets 30k uniques per day. So for me a couple k is high, some people like to talk big here without due proof. Trust me mate, 5k is a good number

Yes 5k is good, but sadly it still won't be enough to get a good Sales ratio if you're selling a product. It is because more than 50% of that traffic will definitely leave within 5 mins. :(

5K would be good for a site relying on advertising though. None of my sites actually sell anything, yet if I got about 5K a day from them all combined, I'd be making almost enough money to quit my day job on :)

my guess for sites that sell something is it dont matter whether you get 5k a day or 5k a month, the real important thing is how targetted is that traffic.

i would rather have 5k a month of visitors that are interested in my product, then 5k a day that are general shoppers.
