Lemaricus Davidson, 25, and Eric Boyd, 34, were arraigned separately. Davidson was charged with carjacking and firearms charges, and Boyd with being an accessory after the fact to the carjacking. Family members of victims Channon Christian, a 21-year-old University of Tennessee student, and her boyfriend Christopher Newsom, 23, wept as details of the carjacking and killings less than two weeks ago were recounted. The couple was last seen on a date January 6. Newsom's shot and burned body was found January 7 along some railroad tracks. The body of Christian, who had been raped, was found in a trash can in Davidson's rented house two days later, two blocks away. Defense attorney Richard Gaines asked that Boyd be released until trial, tentatively set for March 28. Gaines argued that his client is charged only with being an accessory and has cooperated with police. But Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Stone said Boyd is a flight risk, a threat to the community and has "a criminal history which, in a word, is quite scary." Stone recalled Boyd's conviction for a string of aggravated robberies in the 1990s and allegations that he may have committed more robberies recently. Magistrate Bruce Guyton said he would rule later on Boyd's request for bail. Boyd has been implicated by two other suspects caught in Kentucky -- Davidson's brother, Letalvis Cobbins, 24, and George Thomas, 23. They said Boyd sexually assaulted Christian and was seen walking out of Davidson's house with Newsom at gunpoint, then returning alone. A federal judge has signed orders to transfer Cobbins and Thomas back to Knoxville. They have been charged with carjacking and firearm counts in connection with a carjacking. Both carry a potential death penalty because a killing was involved. Davidson also faces three weapons possession counts -- serious charges because he is a felon, released in August from a Tennessee prison after serving five years for carjacking and aggravated robbery. Thomas is charged with being an accessory after the fact. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Jennings told the judge the investigation is "ongoing and active" and could lead to new or additional charges. What in the hell is wrong with people? It really makes me wonder if the parents of these killers just let them raise themselves. You've got to wonder what on Earth makes someone want to to this to someone else. I've got a theory about this... the war and peace movement and drug use in the 60s and 70s lead to a generation plagued by goons like this. Its like almost like there are two kinds of parents from this era.. the ones who cared and nurtured and the ones that said "i'll let them be free, make their own decisions, and raise themselves". That might explain why people are acting more like wolves these days and less like human beings. I'm totally sick over this and completely dissapointed as an American that this is allowed to happen in society. So the guys go to jail... it still doesnt fix the problem of why people are acting like this. I hope they all ride the lightning for doing this.
Evil. These men should be executed. It is animals such as these who make change in the prisons impossible. There the worse the crime, the greater the status inside. With the rape and mayhem inside the prison walls folks ain't thinking about rehabilitation but about survival. Kill these pieces of crap now.

I agree. These men have implicated themselves. They should take people like this out to an old corn field and shoot them.. or hang em from and old oak tree just like they did in the old days. Sure, you had evil people in the 20s and 30s.. but people realized that if you did something so horrendous, you would be dead before dinner once they caught you. Thoughts of rehabilitation is rediculous. Its pointless to put someone in prison for life in a maximum security prison. Life in prison should be converted to death for the good of society. Why should descent people be forced to pay taxes so life-ers can eat and have health insurance when there are still Americans starving in big cities and rural areas? I cant wait until we get a President with the guts to face the conservatives on this issue.
