A good marketing idea, but I would not consider this the worlds first white PS3. There are many companies that already sell skins for XBox, Wii and the PS3. I don't understand why someone splash out over $1,400 for a custom paint job when you can just buy regular PS3 and then get a skin for $15. For example this site has over 70 skins for the PS3. These include some really flash designs (and of course plain white).
If I had the money I'd definitely go for the paint job. For one thing, it's more exclusive, and two, it's quality. The skins are some sort of plastic laminate and just don't have the look of a professional paint job. I'd actually expect them going for over $1400. But maybe that would be for custom orders. Like if someone wants an orange one, say "Oh we don't have those but for $2000 we can do one."
I was thinking of around $1100-2000 for custom ordered color. I don't want to over price them since I doubt there are many people in the world willing to pay $1.5k+ for a custom PS3.
There are plenty, you just have to find them. That's the hard part. There are probably hardcore gamers with extra money that would go $1000 or so, but then there are the rich people that will throw down whatever it takes if you present it properly and at the right time. There's some show on MTV I think, like "sweet sixteen," where rich kids get luxury cars for their birthday and stuff. If you can find parents like that...
I gotta say u did an absolute excellent job on that mod u should just do those for a living. Different colours and stuff
We`ll have to see if people are willing to buy them once I setup the store section of the site. People will be able to chose their color etc.
Youtube brings quite a lot traffic. I uploaded a funny video from one of my site, beleive me it bought around 250-300 uniques a day.
