Some SEO consider that pages which cannot be indexed by Google, can get PR increase anyway! Others disagree.

Does anyone have a proof that a page, which is not indexed by Google and which is not in Google cache has some PR?

If it doesn't have backlinks it won't have PR.

I have seen sites who are not indexed in google (atleast not on the DC that i am redirected to) and they have had PR.

What if you block googlebot from visiting your site at all, can you get PR then? That i do not know.

if it doesn't have backlinks then it cannot have PR. the domain www.action-3.com is not indexed now but it was registered and in use before, it still has backlinks pointing to it.

I had two domains which were not in Google index for almost a year. Both had PR 3, and PR was actually updated on both domains during updates and still not included in index. They are now both in Google index, as of just a few months ago. Weird.

Wow! Cool, I thought you had to be indexed to get PR. But you do need to be crawled. :D

A page that is not indexed is a page with no inbound links -> no PR

If the page has PR and is not indexed -> it has inbound links (PR) -> then it should be indexed ... contradiction...

I do not want to give a verdict but my logic tells me that a page with PR has to be an indexed page because of its backlinks and google spiders crawling the web and finding it.

    Regards

You can prevent indexing by using meta tags or robots.txt, but there will still be backlinks.
