It depends where you live. The West and East coasts are more expensive that say a place like Georgia or Texas.

For instance, the average monthly rent in SoCal is now $1,500 and in some places, you'll need to spend $2k just to get something half decent. If you want to own, that's even more.

I'm not a big fan of some of the cheaper places to live out there, but people live there, so it must be okay. ;)

The average rent for southern california IS pretty high, but you don't need to shell out 2k for a halfway decent place. There are plenty of apartments you can rent (that aren't scummy) for less than 2k.

depend on the store. there are a lot of crappy pizza place in New York that sell 1.50 per slice..or you can find some fancy one selling 4 buck a slice in lower east.

    My dinner tonight

    half BBQ chicken = $3.50
    4 Garlic roll = $1.00.

or if i walk a few more block i can get a fish & chip for 12 buck.

Being a waiter is a great way to network. I work in retail, as a cashier and guest service. So not only am I learning alot of great things about dealing with guests when it comes to business...but I have found it to be great for networking as well. Not only with the other employees, but the guests that come into the store as well.

Denise brings up a great point. In my post, I mistakenly said "decent" and didn't qualify it. What's "decent" to one person might be great or crummy to another.

I'm more of a yuppie, so my version of "decent" is most likely above the average person's version (I'm guessing).

So, I'll defer to Denise's evaluation since she's more down to earth. ;)

It just meant that I was thinking about specific areas in SoCal, specifically OC, whereas, you gave an overall generic response for the person asking the question.

So, your answer was better. I didn't qualify mine and I made the assumption that another person had the same prerequisites as me.

It obviously wasn't an insult princess. (hahah -> runs for cover) ;)

    That's a fictitious casino on CSI. :)

If you come here looking for it, you'll be looking forever.

What's funny about that, or not, is there's a company here called Montecito Co. They do construction of grocery stores and stuff.

hahaha right. I don't know why I said CSI. Maybe because it's filmed here and I watched it last night.

I wasn't sure if you were joking. Some people think everything on TV is real you know. ;)

I guess your IM broke this week? ;)

    Yawn.
