possible to get someones IP address on Vbulletin?

    hey guys, just curious...without admin access, is it possible to get someones IP address on Vbulletin forums of another user??

    Doubt it, Unless you get them to visit a phpbb forum or some CMS that tells you the users ip address.

    Or you could even make a script for it.

    I have the feeling he wouldn't be asking here if he had any special access to the forum in question. Besides, it depends on how the forum is set up.

    I know I can as an admin, all I have to do is check who is online and their IP displays next to their name, i dont think you can by being just a user

    Admin and mods are the only ones that can view IP adresses. Regular members can't.

    Admins can (obviously) with mods I think it depends on what permissions they have.

    The only way to do it guys is to send them to a 3rd party site, Vbullitin is very
    secure.

    Like i said before, Making a script to do that is very easy.

    Although if you are going to use this information for hacking, I recommend you don't. Unless you know what you are doing. Even then you will probably get caught.

    You can get sent to prison for it remember?
