But consider that I could get IPB for $70 and Vbulletin for full price. Also if you can tell me why one or the other is better. Thanks in advance Eytanv
but IPB has some cool features. I'm not trying to take a side but I can get IPB from someone for $70. If someone can give me a better price for IPB or something close to it for VB, then I will probably go for VB. But my budget is pretty tight and its always fun to save money
The Newest IPB has amazing userprofiles making each user there own personal blog. Its a standardized feature and is really nice.
I love vBulletin - it is very easy to mod etc. Have just upgraded and it was really easy. Support was great too. I haven't used IBP though, so I can't compare them.
I did not use IPB, but i ca nesily say that vbulletin worths the money. Think about user perspective and administrator perspective. In both of the perspectives, i like vbulletin.
If you want to check out the vBulletin admin panel and have a little play before buying - you can check it out, 'cause they offer a trial thing which they set up for you. I'm not sure if IBP offer that.
Do a research using the search facility at the top of the forum. The are at least one dozen of "IPB vs vBulletin" topics.
i think IPB is pretty nice, I just set up a neat travel forum with ipb 2.1 with many mods. www.adventurezonetours.com
I swtiched completely from IPB to Vbulletin. Invision isn't at all search engine friendly, even with the additional plugins. Google will end up indexing every page about 5 times. I've managed to completely control all spiders within Vbulletin to stop all duplicate content issues so it only indexed the topics. Imo Vbulletin is the superior piece of software, you won't regret it
IPB is $150 now, thats what I payed anyway. I may try Vbulletin on a new forum for my next free hsoting site. hostex.eu
Only thing I think IPB has better then vB is alot of nice AJAX features already built in and a nice admincp If you compare the 2 vBulletin does have alot more -.-
