why use a .org?

    Even thought, the restriction was lift long ago and anyone can get an ORG domain, including people profiting from such extension :rolleyes:

    NFP or Non Profit Organization. They can still make money, its just a type of business registration for tax purposes.

    It was branded a certain way and in user's mind it still brings a sense of a non profit type organization, which benefits some websites such as dmoz.
