I'm trying to build a directory, i'm looking for submissions,

Create some basic categories before opening your directory for submissions.

 

agreed. there should be more categories unless you intend to have those only? Is it a general directory? or niche?

 

Doesn't look like a niche directory - has got camping and webmaster categories. .

He is adding categories now...had two categories some time back and now has five.

 

it's intended as a niche,, the camping one was the first one as i was learning to add categories. it's a passion of mine,

I had planned to add more specialzed as they were suggested...
maybe not a good idea.???

Please add more common categories like Shopping, Home , Directories etc.

 

As for the recip..it will not accept my submission unless I input a link..

 

If your dir is new you should give at first free submissions without any recirpocals :/

 

I was hoping to keep it to seo sem and similar categories.
Much the same type of content as found here or at webmasterworld.com or seoroundtable.com

if there is no real demand/need/want for this only then maybe will consider expanding to broader categories.
also feel free to "suggest" a category on the site.

He has some categories but not to many i thought the script gives so also the categories

You really need to add more categories

 

Again, There is a "Suggest Category" menu item.
I am not a Directory expert and couldn't possibly add all 25,000 categories all at once, I will add them as there is a need.
unless someone could tell me how to import all categories automatically.
the script came with and installed one category, "root"

 

Esyndicat is a great script, but you should really have imported the categories which are available from the forum BEFORE adding sites, as doing it now will wipe out your existing data .

Is that the paid or free version?
