I experimented with forum signatures a couple of day ago. Article is in my "recent blog" , check it out if you want... p.l.u.r.
I got 20% of traffic for my directory www.jeffbrowninc.com which is in the signature Ao I think it ends out you a good traffic
i doubt you'll get good traffic from it and it probably wont be quality traffic. usually when i click someones sig link, i am just checking out their site and im not there to click ads or anything, im just there to get ideas for my own site.
It all adds up though, and i think as with everything else, it all depends on targetted users. If you have something that they are interested in, they are more likely to click, and a few of those may even turn into subscribers / customers. I had quite a bit of success with forum signature traffic about 18 months ago with one particular website, posting in 4 or 5 related forums (just a few posts a day in each) and got a nice jump in both traffic and signups. Then i got "forum lazy" and stopped doing that. It will also inevitably depend on the quality of the posting. One liners won't cut it, nor will irrelevant information...
Forum sigs can bring huge amounts of traffic, repeatedly. Most often it's highly targeted people who are looking for what you're offering. I get plenty of sign ups through the link in my sig, without which I'd probably have to run adwords or something. Pay for traffic? Not me
they've said it, and I'd just like to emphasize two points: 1. the forum should be active 2. you are active in making relevant posts Most of the forum users would become interested on the kind of sites you make when you become a frequent visitor and poster to their forum, regardless of whether or not your site is related to the type of forum. There's still the advantage, of course, of sites that are related to the forum they're in.
around 2-3uniques a day . depends really on your profile and your activity might get more visitors in coming time
What i personally feel is if u want to get more out of ur time them the only best way for life long clicks are Link exchange with same trade sites. In short this should be the way 1) Add sites to Search engines. 2) add to directories 3) Link exchange with same trde sites 4) Add signature in forum & make good posts with attractive subject his way u'll get good response Lisa Aman - CEO & Owner www.HostHumor.com GOOGLE PR 6
I appreciate the good points being made so far. I'd just like to add that having a strong call to action and relevant premium in your signature goes a long way in generating clicks as well.
i usually got > 100 from DP signature when i am active on DP, otherwise 50~70 from DP .... forum signature are a good traffic source for me
Forum traffic falls into the content category. Meaning content is king on the net and any content you create that is keyword rich, high quality, useful information that you create will undoubtedly attract residual "targeted" traffic. Article writing, creating page content, forum posts are all methods included in this category.
Hi, I will write here, as my other thread was closed. Can you recommend any forums with lot of users ( links please! ) that can drive good traffic ? Any success stories maybe ?
Forums are good to get traffic, but instead of mass-posting, perhaps you could simply hire other people to post - or buy their signature links? That would (perhaps) be more cost efficient for you. Then you might want to pick just one or two (or 3) major forums where you'd contribute more frequently, and put some good insight there. You possibly knew this already, but www.big-boards.com lists those large forums where you'd might want to participate.
Its great. look at how much people drive to their new sites from signature links. For example, people have driven a lot of traffic to their personal blogs from marketing on DP which then given them backlinks from some of those visotrs, which in turn has boosted their SERPS.
You won't get masses and masses of traffic from a forums signature but you'll certainly get quality traffic, IF the site in the signature is relevant to the forum.
can someone tell me how to see the sources of my traffic? e.g. how can i know the traffic came from my sig? thanks!
