Can one click on his own LINK units?

Just wondering here, since link units require two clicks, is the first click allowed?

I am not trying to click my own ads but I sometimes get tempted to see what they're about. Don't flame me as I have never done so and do not intend to.

Nope, that's still against Google's TOS. If you want to know where the link leads to, you can always right click it and click properties. I'm not 100% sure if that works with link units though.

Yup that worked thanks, don't know why I didn't think of it.

The preview tool AFAIK doesn't show link units neither images

Here is one email I got some time a go

    ******************************************************

    Hello XXXXX,

    Thank you for your response.

AdSense publishers are permitted to click on the link unit topics on
    their
web pages, provided that they do not click on any Google ads on the
resulting page. Clicking on the ads themselves is prohibited, as it has
the potential to inflate advertiser costs.

However, you may still prefer not to click on the link unit topics that
appear on your site, as clicking on these links has the potential to
inaccurately inflate impressions and affect your reporting metrics.

I got an email from G saying that to visit a link's resulting site, I could just right click a link and then hit copy link location then paste it into my browser.

As the letter shows, you are allowed to click on the first link to see which ads show up for that topic. However you are not allowed to click on the actual ads.

If you copy link location, and paste that into your add bar, it still counts as a click on your ad.
