Thread Editing in Marketplace

Just an idea about thread editing in the B/S/T area:

Some webmaster forums (NamePros comes to mind) allow you an indefinite period to edit threads started in marketplace forums. This allows the seller to modify items as sold, update links and stats, etc, all while allowing potential buyers to gather info quickly without scanning through a tediously long thread looking for updates from the seller. At DP, editing time is severely limited, maybe an hour or two, forcing the seller (me :)) to post unneeded replies to indicate that a product is no longer available, etc.

Any chance editing time in B/S/T could be extended?

No, there is not a chance of such an option.

May I ask why? I can't really see where there would be any adverse effects. The question is for my own knowledge, I'm not second-guessing you :)

The Scammers would take over thats why

    For example:

Member A sells lifetime links for $25

Then " Member A " collects money from other members

Then " Member A " changes thread to Lifetime Links $50 and then never places links to the members that have paid

    KEEPING IT SIMPLE VERSION:

People would be changing shit left and right , and there would be know way to know what was being sold from the beginning

We have enough issues in the b/ s / t , I could just imagine if there was no limit

    Man.....It would be a freak fest :)

    Hope that helps

I see what you mean, but I don't think NP runs into those types of problems. Oh well, I tried :D

The first post is like the contract of sale. If thta can be modified it would create chaos.
