    Probably you dont want. Most people in the UK are drooling over Shilpa Shetty - Indian Bollywood star and one of the contestants in the "Celebrity Big Brother".

    Sad to see the bitching she has to endure (that took a racist turn recently) due to her good looks and also because she is the highest paid member of the BB house.

    Its not racism at all, every single year 1 or 2 housemates are singled out and bullied but this time just because that housemate is not white it is being said to be racism, also if you have watched the program youll see Shilpa has said just as bad things to the other housemates as they have said to her. But yeah she is hot :)

    Man, I really dont know. The thing is, BB is not broadcats here in India. Whatever info I'm getting is from the news channels, newspapers and the internet.

    You know how the media love a story :) Surely they are insulting her and they dont like here but there havent been any actual racist remarks so far i dont think. Also the girls are definitely jealous of her as celebrities they are z-listers and Shilpa has a good career they are just being bitchy.

    Lol, what do you mean by "normal Indian"? you're on of those who beleive in stereotypes I guess.

    And its not that I'm proud of one Indian...I mentioned Shilpa because she's got quite famous in the western world lately. I'm more proud of "actor of the millennium" - Amitabh Bachhan, "Father of the Nation (India)" - Mahatma Gandhi; who's preachings of truth and non-violence, if practiced in today's world would make it a much better place to live in.

    I'm prouder still that my country is the abode of spirituality...that great religions like Hinduism (oldest rel. in the world), Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism were born here and still flourish.

    I'm proud of my country's secularity, such that being a Hindu majority country (more thn 80% of the population is Hindu) - we have a Muslim President (Mr A.P.J. Abdul Kalaam) and a Sikh Prime Minister (Mr Manmohan Singh).

    What more do you want?

    it is not stereotypes. She looks different from

    1) picture of Indian in India
    2) people in Indian town ( around Newport, NJ)
    3) and Indian i know from school (I major in computer science, which at least half of the class are indian. We are not really firend but we help out each other)..

    they don't look anything like her, not at all.

    May be i shouldn't use word normal, but the word "everyday"

    and i think you are the one who is stereotype as you have not see the outside world (by yourself, not from flim or tv or book, but actually talk and meet with them).

    also, as you can see, in other "my country is the best" thread, people from other nation give postive comment. However, in this thread it is not the same (i don't wanna say it...read it yourself).

    Don't get me wrong. I am not Indian hater. My finger point to a few fools in this thread

    Grafstein, comparing physiques and your brattish tendancies as a child do not determine someone's sexuality, nor does it prove the destination of their "afterlife". Ghandi was a hindu - do they hell as well as reincarnation? I suspect hell is reserved for western middle class types.
