    Summary of what's for sale:
    http://www.uquick.com
    http://directory.uquick.com
    http://auctions.uquick.com
    http://www.marketingy.com

    and the 19 directories listed below...

    * URL: directory.uquick.com
    * Established: 12 Sep 2004
    * Monthly Revenue: $1,629

    Description:

    I am selling 20 directories, search engine, auctions, and a contact form. I can't sell them separately.

    The main directory is http://directory.uquick.com. There is a cloning system as well. You can add new directories to this network. Currently, there are 20 directories including Uquick Web Directory.

    Users can add their website to all directories on the same form from Uquick Web Directory or each one individually.

    Each web directory has a unique brand:

    http://www.allmuse.com
    http://www.beeus.com
    http://www.axisdirectory.com
    http://www.crazydirectory.com
    http://www.directoryi.com
    http://www.directoryu.com
    http://www.linketta.com
    http://www.severallinks.com
    http://www.venusdirectory.com
    http://www.ableindex.com
    http://www.kdirectory.com
    http://www.genozobe.com
    http://www.dirzy.com
    http://www.diralize.com
    http://www.yourwebmyweb.com
    http://www.webozze.com
    http://www.webmein.com
    http://www.trandir.com
    http://www.globetta.com

    The search engine (http://www.uquick.com) is based on an open-source algorithm and code, and consists of the core written in C++ and a MySQL database. It has its own spider, which you can run using cron or from the command line. Ideally, it would be better to move it to its own server. Currently, I charge $4.95 per website. You can make it free. The main settings can be configured in a config file. The search engine is capable of keeping an index of millions of websites. Just need the right hardware.

    There are also Uquick Auctions with a full-blown auction system (http://auctions.uquick.com). They are not used very much right now.

    Contact form (http://software.uquick.com) is also part of the package. It is sold using OsCommerce.

    There is also a "master" site for all of the above: http://www.marketingy.com, which is included in the auction as well. I can also transfer an 800 number to you if you wish, otherwise I will cancel it. The cost is $15 per month. It is provided by RingCentral.com.

    The revenue for all of the above was (99% from web directories)
    2004: everything was free, no revenue
    2005: $6,432.39
    2006: $19,553.52

    The hosting fee is $110 a month. You will probably want to take over the hosting because the search engine is tightly integrated with the system.

    There aren't that many other expenses. I am paying $40 a month for a link on another site but you don't have to.

    I did not create this site initially for the purpose of selling. I started the site in 2004 and put in a lot of effort in establishing it. I need money for my other projects.

    Traffic and Source of Revenue
    Many people have asked me about the traffic. My goal wasn't getting the most traffic, it was to get the biggest number of submissions. As a result the quality of traffic is very high. The value of each visitor is over $1!

    The traffic mainly comes from SEO and marketing companies. My directory is on their submission list. Some companies submit hundreds of links to the individual pages on their website, as I allow deep linking. Ohers submit to 20 directories at once, as you can see on the submission form, it's quite easy: http://directory.uquick.com/newlink.php?cat=0

    Most of the directories are on different C-class IPs or different IPs completely. Hosting company has given me new IPs when I requested them for about $2 or $5 extra a month per IP. This is important as the links from different IPs are more valuable. Google gives them more weight.

    Hosting account is on a Virtual Private Server, and allows to host an unlimited number of domains, so your hosting fee should not increase unless you decide to move up to a better machine. And if you do decide to do that, it should be quite easy. They are saying it will take about 1 second of downtime. You will not have to change any settings.

    What is the hosting company that you use? Do you have a BIN, Reserve, or starting bid (if this is an auction).

    I am sick of people not reading: "The hosting fee is $110 a month. You will probably want to take over the hosting because the search engine is tightly integrated with the system."
