Adsense is not just the only source of income for a website. You should expand your websites, sign up with affiliate programs and earns from them. If you have a high traffic website, you are sure to earn more $$$ from affiliate programmes than from Adsense.
Well, I do appreciate your feedback and congratulations on the successful business, but I think there's been a miscommunication. I'm not doing this because I got fired or anything like that. I get job offers every day. I also have enough in savings to live for couple a years or more if I need to. My wife is currently working and making more than enough to support both of us during this experiment. The purpose of the number $5000 is arbitrary. It's a goal I set. If I could be making $2000/mo by August, I would be happy but not satisfied. The point is that I can do so online so I don't HAVE to go back to work. I know there's a way I can get to the $5000 mark, I just have to find it. Once I have the knowledge, I can spread it around, too. That's the beauty in what I'm trying to do. I'd like to make it easy for lots of people to stop working for other people, or at the very least, make paying the bills a lot easier. That's why I appreciate your input as well as all of the input the forum has given me as I believe it will help many others to achieve financial success.

You're right, AdSense isn't the only source of income. I'm also using affiliate driven sales on one of my blogs but they're very sporadic. I also have an affiliate driven website that pays me about $50/mo from about 1 signup per month from webhosts. I also wrote an eBook I'm trying to put into circulation. I'm just waiting for these things to pick up some speed. Meanwhile, AdSense is the only constant revenue source, so I refer to that instead of the other things.

I make that sound like a scam haha.. but seriously, I made $20 yesterday and I just started. Let's hope I can double that or match that today and then grow it. Things are picking up!
Just keep building. Build, link, promote, viralize, and forget. Having automated tools should help as well. Finally, having a standardized quality guideline will go a long way.
Today I made $20 again, making another sale with ClickBank and adding onto my AdSense earnings. I just need to increase both and $5000 isn't too much. I have a new partner and he's making ~$250/day which is about $7500/mo. It's very possible. I've already jumped up to the prospect of making $600/mo currently. I just need to 10X that. I think I'll definitely reach $5K/mo by August, if not more.
That's essentially what I'm doing. I post to my blog several times per day and I'm going to make it a goal to start a new website each day for affiliate purposes.
Yeah, I had my limit set to $16/day but it was only going up to about $4.. so I'm going to increase my CPC. Then later, I'll increase the budget.
While you make some good points, you should realise there are a lot of individuals making more than a living off the internet. You only have to look at the adsense case studies to realise, in nearly every case, its individuals that running are those sites. Also, look at the significant number of people on DP that make well into thousands a month (there must at least be 50 or so). Sure, people need to look at diversifying from adsense, but in my opinion, adverstising on the internet has only scrtached the surface. It will grow and mushroom, at least for the next 15-20 years.
Hey guys, here's an update. I recently upped my monthly income to around $500/mo .. so now I just need to keep increasing the multiplier. I'll get to $5000/mo if it kills me. There's a guy I'm working with that makes ~$175/day or an average of $5250/month, so I believe it is totally doable. And to answer your question- no, he's not relying completely on AdSense. I believe if he did that, he would be making around $50/mo. Looks like things are picking up!
Create a product or service that will improve people's lives. Thats really the key. And remember that you will probably have to spend 2-3 months just developing your product. But if you believe in yourself and work tirelessly I am sure you can get to even 10k per month.
