I have given up trying to advertise in the search network.. to expensive.

I have read about the low cost content network advertising and am going to try it out.

Is this basically ad;s that will be displayed on adsense?

I think cianuro means running a site targeted campaign, which indeed can work well if you keep a close eye on results.

What are you using AdWords for? If it's ecommerce then I have always found that content network doesn't perform as well as search, in part because of the simple fact that customers generally aren't in the purchase stage of the sales process when reading content sites.

i am testing it with a keyword targeted campaign as the site i am advertising does not have any content on it.

It is not an ecommerce site.

I want to target with certain keywords to certain people described in the keywords.

    Mistake?

Also... I tried what you said and did a site targeted keyword ad.. But the minimum CPC is .25 cents. why can i not set it lower. I am looking for 3 cents and under

I think your mistake might well be that you're 'advertising a site with no content on it' - If that's true then your quality score on Google search must have been dire.

Can you post or PM me the url? I could offer more advice based on that.

That's exactly the problem. Do a SMALL bit of SEO, link building and organic Search Engine Optimisation and you will increase your quality score.

An affiliate link is where i get paid for when people go to sites using my link. They sign up for something and i get paid for everyone who signs up

Genrally, an affiliate page is all flash with no content. That is my problem

I know what an affiliate is.. I asked what affiliate program you're promoting.

Well, lets say i am promoting a 'free sample' affiliate program. And all i need people to do is put in their email addresses for me to get paid.

What i am doing is linking directly to MY affiliate link for that campaign.

It bring them to the awful page with no content.

So your saying that i should build a custom page, with content, and put the affiliate banner somewhere on the page so that they then click it?

How can i make content for something so simple and boring?

If you think it's simple and boring, then you'll never be successful promoting it.

If the signup form itself is plain and lacks content, all the better for you!

Write your own page of content to get people really excited about the 'free sample'. Include flattering pictures of the 'free sample' - or happy people who might be enjoying the 'free sample'. Explain in simple terms why people need this 'free sample' and how much it will benefit their lives.

Then, once you've got people excited and eager to sign up, have a big TEXT link to the affiliate signup form.

This is a 'sales letter' of sorts.. the idea is that you're convincing people why it's a great idea to do what you want them to do, and then give them the opportunity to do it.

    Good luck :D

haha. i will try coming up with something for the specific affiliate program i am working on.

I am horrible at writing content. i will have to pay someone to do it for me.
