The only reason to ever use channels for individual pages is to either test out new ad placements or other experiments that requires you keep track of their earnings progress day by day. Otherwise, there is absolutely no reason to put channels on every single page. Use a URL channel for your different sites if there is no tinkering to be done to them.
LOL. Same probs here man. I stopped creating channels from the day I understood that I am going to own more number of websites then google has channels in it.
It's not good idea that you make one channel per page for small traffic websites, instead make one channel per domain.
Yes, with this scheme you can easily reach to max channels. At least you should try to assign channels to very important pages only.
It's easy to get obsessed with statistics and tracking, to the point where statistics and tracking takes up more time than the actual creation of sites.
i think i may need to slow down on my channel making =-o. i usually make one channel per ad to determine which ones are getting the most clicks.
I've more than 2k pages and i'm using my channels like. website_top website_mid website_bot website_left website_right 195 channels left now
one channel per page is overkill and will not provide any worthwhile statistical data that is comperative to the amount of resources you are spending tracking on that level. i never use more than one channel per site and generally use one channel to track multiple sites in a specific topic. once you know how to optimize adsense, there's really no reason to track on a detailed level using channels.
Its not overkill at all, if each of your pages is about a different niche you need to be able separate the data from each ad block and each niche, i actually use 3 channels per page. Also when you spend alot on advertising it becomes even more important since minor adjustments can save money. I would find it impossible gauging any useful stats from one channel per site :S
If you are paying for traffic, there's no reason for you to be putting all your sites under one domain in the first place. You are putting your whole Internet livelihood at risk should something happen to that domain; beyond that, different domains devoted to different niches are allowed to propagate in the SE's and bring you organic traffic in the future.
Ill say this, if you do arbitrage where your making 50+ new niches a day buying a domain for every niche is a waste of money as well as time. I couldnt care less if all the search engines banned my arbitrage sites (alot of the time i block them anyway) my traffic is all paid for. Even if i couldnt access my domain id just transfer the files to new ones and change where im pointing my tarffic at.
yes you can;'t truely need all the channels as channels are more to be used for expirementing etc.. once you find somethign that works and its consisitent remove the channel and let it run. this works for me.
