I took adsense of my site a long time ago. Once it was gone, my sales tripled. I was surprised at first, but then again I myself get annoyed with adsense popping up everywhere when I'm searching for something.

I would read about people getting thousands of visitors to their adsense site and I would get frustrated. I'm always wishing that those people would join my sites affiliate program, so I could benefit from all that traffic as well. Of course, dozens of other people wish that same thing.

I still keep adsense on my blog, but that is definitely only pocket change.

I'm thinking of abandoning adsense too.

Just far too many restrictions and rules on the ads. And they don't really pay enough to justify all the restrictions. I could make more in one day selling porn (not that I would!!) than in a year with adsense!!

Just wondering, what restrictions and rules do you object to so much?

I would guess things like image placement and blending techniques. It sounds like a lot of people feel that Google is watching over them, always waiting to pounce on a violation of the TOS.

My AdSense earnings are definitely down right now. I've tried AdBrite in the past (without much success), but maybe I'll try 'em again. Good to see some valid competition emerging anyway. :)

Not putting images next to the ads, site content must be 'family-friendly';) , can take a long time to reach that $100 level (for me at least!), not being able to display similar looking ads, not being able to display other contextual ads...the list goes on....:(

just pulled 2/3 of my adsense off the site. I'll probably pull the last one after I reach $100 and get paid!:D

I have been using Adsense for over a year now, and ironically January has been my best month so far, and I should record my highest ever monthly earnings.

I have tried Adbrite in the past, but it would always show up an 'Advertise here' link without any advertiser links for me.

Just joined AdBrite and will see what happens. Cannot be any worse than AdSense for my sites.

    Thanks for the info! :)

From my exp i think adsense is a lot better than adbrite. Firstly, they offer a lot bigger variety of ways to get money - search, contextual words, ref boxes, normal. While adbrite has typical boxes (now they added video though....). For my arcade site, i used to get around 16 - 40 cents from adbrite, mostly cpm. The few clicks came from decieving the clicker lol ;). Adbrite is not contextual which is the problem. Whose going to click on gambling ads in a kid arcade???

I tried adsense and i immediatly jumped up to 75-1 dollar a day from ACTUAL clicks. none of the bs cpm :p. Even though adsense might pay less cpc they get a lot more clicks.

Then came my proxy. Through adsense i am getting at least 25 cents per click! Since they are all contextual, my home page gets a 2.5% cpm this turns in to quite a lot of cash! In fact today i might finally hit the xx$ mark :) (usually i get around 5-6$, but the day isn't over and im at 9 today )! Through adbrite i failed - made 20$ in 2 months, through adsense I made 75$ in 2 or 3 weeks.

Another thing. Although i hate to admit i did this - i clicked on my ads a couple of times :(. Adsense immediatly stopped paying after 3 or 4 clicks, but adbrite - i must've gotten at least a 100 0.o!!!

    So what i reccommend -
Adsense if you're actually getting traffic and real people to your site.
Adbrite it you're getting traffic through traffic exchanges and such.

    Hope that helped,
    Akshay

    hm...

I'm not sure how long I've had Adsense on my site and blog...maybe 5 months? Anyway I have had arguements behind the people behind Adsense in the past, and in total to date I've made $11.00 from Adsense...then again my traffic flow sucks and all, but I'm wondering if I should switch to something like Azoogle or something...I'll build up my traffic and see what happens with Adsense...
