I have a 3,000 page, 3 year old site. I have lots of incoming links from a variety of sources. Assuming the update is over, my site's PR has remained the same, ie, PR6 at the root, but what has me worried is that many but not all of the leaf pages now show as PR0, where they didn't before (they had positive PR). I think they may be the victims of some new Google penalty, which seems to show up at the leaves only. Anybody else seeing anything similar? Let me know (PM) and I will analyze your site too and see if I can figure out what is going on.

Mark - that is exactly what I am seeing at www.deepmarket.com - which also happens to be a PR6. Perhaps this is a "PR6 Penalty"?

I am thinking this is some sort of on-page factors penalty, probably designed to get rid of perceived spam by Google. On-page factors have been getting more important in the last 9 months or so. Some of my leaf pages have retained their PR and many went PR0. Since all the pages have the same templated structure and unique content written by me I can't really see the pattern yet as to why one leaf page has PR and another doesn't, but I will analyze at your site tomorrow and see if I can figure this out.

    So what's the deal?

Is the ranks we see now set in stone? I don't think so, but if it is.

What can you say but, "get'em next time"?

Well despite the fact that these page ranks have been out of date for some time, my internal pages are showing much higher page rank than the homepage. I'm more than sure that the update is not over. All those inner pages point back to the homepage, so it is only logical that my homepage should have an equal or higher page rank. Not to mention all of the other links that point to my homepage. Anyways my SERPs continue to improve, which is much more important.

My pages are without change of PR. That means I am still on PR0. I think that my effort with promotion google ignored. Hmmm.. Maybe 3 months later...

Is it actually confirmed that the PR update is over or will there be changes right away ? It is my understanding that about 80 % of the sites were actually left unchanged.

I have a different story to tell. I have retained my home page ranking and lost a lot of my inside page PR...in fact most of my inside pages which were PR4 are now PR0. Dont know what kinda update this is.

Actually, it isn't a different story. I have the the exact same problem with my site www.deepmarket.com - in fact, all of my internal PR is gone. Several other people have seen the same thing on their sites.

Perhaps we need to start a different thread for internal page PR problems?

All i have seen from this update is Google's recognition of links to my site through the link: command.

No change in PR (from 0 to ?) on sites I know have over 800+ quality back links.

    Very, very odd.

All I have realized is ---- 1000 of pr sites have lost their pr ; many remain same and a very few sites have gained some pr.....

    what you all say...

    regards.
