No worries, the globals issue brought up by 'bunny' on the forum has been dealt with though. No worries on the greenman if its a private joke. Hope you see the phpLynx script stand up to the task. I just don't like seeing threads hijacked, neither does David, he complained about me enough.

I really dont get this, i have been on a lot of forums. If someone likes a new product he can tell about it right? I have never seen so many people jumping on a thread like this. Whats the point. There are a lot of scripts out there, A few are new. I googled a few and look at similar threads on the forums. All where welcome on the forums, this script on others aswell. But here you all jump on it? As you can see in my sig i use both, and even busy trying openld in a few days. Why cant you all be open minded, and just welcome a new script on the market? But thats just my 2 cents
well, dtm, i am open minded, and i believe i expressed how i felt about things with my initial post. what do you think about requiring registration to use a free script? i don't feel i should have to register in order to try a 'free' script out. p.s. - closed minded = encrypted script.
Anon, when i compare it with other scripts. I mean the ones with the same features, i would have to pay for it. They give it for free, it requires a registration oke. I dont see a problem in that. When i go for another script with the same features, i would have to pay. And register before i can download it. So i really dont see the problem. I will try all scripts, as said before openld will be my next. And e-syndicate etc etc. But just keep a open mind.
Hehe bunny got banned cause told a user to do format d:/q command on livechat thingy . But how has it been dealt with ? (not the bunny part but the globals part) Why is it encrypted captcha system yes no problem you can encrypt but other pages like index from which code can be used for other features by users restricts them all. And @ download to register = turnoff for lots of people but its admins/owners preference, and not to mention odd banned bunch of bunnies who cannot download anymore, but its ok others can probably download it and can share. After all its free, if you guys are annoyed with register to download , send me the script i will provide download mirror cause after all its free. @anon i agree encrypting script is not a good thing thats offered for free(for paid i can see why one would encrypt it, but its just the creators viewpoint and we should all respect it as we would anyones work and devotion , creating things is harder than destroying them so please guys stick to topic its going offline now.

Hello there Rob, What's better Rob, signing up and registering for an incredibly good FREE script to get FREE help, no 'members area' where you have to pay $10 to get in to get preferencial help, no waiting for months for a fix, upgrades, and the rest? Or simply downloading a weak script which is full of bugs which forces you to sign up to the forum to seek help on smarty coding and the rest? I know which option I would take. Rob, let's not go down the closed minded = encrypted script bit ok, it smells of sour grapes. You work your nuts off for phpLD (probably for little reward for what your worth?) I know, everyone sees that, and for what, are you ever going to own that script? You should be a major shareholder by now the amount of work you've done there! Now that's closed minded! The narrow mind is the one who tries to cloud the issue of the scripts unique features and tries to pick at possible negatives even though in reality they aren't negatives. You don't see people from eSyndicat etc responding like you guys from phpLD, now that's openminded, as they let the world get on with it and concentrates on his own script. I'm going to let the people be the judge of phpLynx, not people who clearly have a vested interest in trying to discredit it as I'm open minded. I like to be able to build upon anything that I invest my time in. You know I like to learn, and I'm pretty much one of the fastest you've probably ever seen. This makes is not so possible to build upon what's already there. you surely cannot believe that all of the features ever possible are there already. We know I was definately an innovative and driving force behind phpld, first with the style of template, then the mods, and now anything and everything people can conjur up. I can do it. I don't work for phpld. I've never gotten paid for anything other than custom jobs from clients. And although I can see what's going on as of lately with trying to eradicate me from the script altogether, that will fail, because every knows me as the phpld guru, and they know who helped make it what it is today(siteexpress and myself)...(that's especially for you to read and reread, david) Everyone but, *the one* Well, it was suppose to be that way...but i guess when something gets 'going' people tend to lose track of their promises and how 'we will grow together'... Oh well, whatever, i lived and i've learned. Now it's just business, since the trust has been stripped. I was optimistic at first. you don't see me doggin' anyone or any script anymore, now do you . My fight for phpld has long past now due to what has transpired. What keeps me going, is remaining true to my friends and loyal to my clients. Although I will always remain 100% honest in everything that I do, when someone breaks a promise to me, they break everything. I'm personally not clouding anyones mind. I just don't want to register. Besides, even with you saying and knowing how much I've given to phpld with nada in return, when and if I go anywhere else(I tried to check out esyndicat) people will think otherwise as if it's some sort of conspiracy, because I was so true to the script and I fought, and fought hard, so i will always remain in everyone's mind as a loyalist to phpld. About that what makes you say its incredibly good, i make phpld templates and release them, i never say ooh look free incredibly good template. About that , eSyndicat is Crap and no one likes it much, plus hell when their own support cannot respond to you on their own helpdesk/forums you think anyone will even notice this thread or even respond ever? Hmm, you guys ban people on forums cause they made a joke on livechat thing on forums (mind you there are no rules when you signup about livechat) cause someone tells someone to format d:/q command which they have no clue how to do it anyways. ummm... you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. absolutely none. now go play with your directory, or whatever it is that you do to make you happy.
I would like to see a directory with a free option as an example, not one that offers 3 paid options to list and one where it asks you for your home address, home phone number and signs you up for some kind of subscription. I really don´t think anyone has a problem with your script, but everyone seems to have a problem with YOU.
Is it too much to ask if you guys take this fight some place and leave this thread for a sincere and purely technical analysis of the proposed, new, free solution ? I have to say that is TOO MUCH spam on DP forums these days... is there any moderator available to clean all this mess ? Good quality information is harder and harder to find and I am sick of reading 10 pages of a thread in order to find just 2 or 3 informative posts.
