Adsense payouts getting worse

Yesterday for one of my sites i got 21k page impressions, 52 clicks and only $2.30. I've seen a steady decline over the last few weeks, a few pence each day but a decline none the less. I've even used adsblacklist.com but it doesnt seem to make any difference.

What do you guys do with sites that have decent page impressions but low CTR and payouts? How do you make money?

I recently had around 150 site impressions, 3 clicks, money made: 2,67 on 1 of my sites....

Yeah, clicks increased but payouts stayed the same, or lower.

 

With a topic like this, some people will say their earnings are dropping while others will say its increasing.

 

Update your keywords

 

CTR is very low for me these days as well... so does the ppc

Yeah, with that much of traffic, you should consider some other related keywords... try it for couple of days and check it..

 

50 clicks just is not enough to tell how it is paying ....

On the same site I sometimes get click that is worth 1c and next one is worth 1.50$ .....

 

Similar situation for me this year. November and December were pretty good, but more or less as soon as 2007 has started the payouts per click are way, way down compared to last year. Earnings are down about 25% at the moment...add this to the weak dollar compared to the pound and its not good!

 

have you wondered the companies could lowered their PPC?

 

If you're doing that many impressions, you should look into signing up with a CPM network and putting traditional image banners on your site to capitalize on the impressions rather than waiting for someone to click. Try Axill (.30-cent CPM), Valueclick (formerly Fastclick), and others.

 

Dont block any ad. Adsense´s algorithm will deliver only the best performers to your site. Blocking ads will just decrease the income.

What type of site do you have? A forum?

I heard that a forum do not monetize quite well with adsense. Is it true?

 

so. i made $50 with 9k imp per day. the site is one month old, but in the weekend goes down.

 

What's the topic of your site? It sounds to me as though your ads are not properly placed. In addition, it is very possible that your keywords have a very low payout anyway. Try changing those two things, and I think you'll see better results.

 

Is there any tips or recipes to attract 9K impression in one month?

 

Thanks for all your replies. I might change the keywords to see if they have any effect. Does google only check the keywords for putting the ads or it checks the page content too?

So blocking blacklisted ads has no effect on the payouts? So Adsbacklist.com is useless?

I've applied and have been turned down by CPM networks like ValueClick and Casale. I'll look into Axill.
