I started checking my PR when I first looked at all the discussion in DP forums. I was wondering what would be my PR. I read many threads about buying PR links etc but was never convinced. I just completely ignored those topics about buy/sell PR links and concentrated more on content and building subscriber base. Today i got more than 1500+unique & about 75+ subscriber (at this time) and increasing everyday. How did i achieve it? 1) Build fresh original content for your blog. The original content will get you linked on other popular blogs and on and on. 2) Submit articles to article sites.e.g ezinearticles 3) Asking blogger in your niche for links..no paid links but just FREE. Why i got PR5? If you look at my links, I have only about 5-6 blog links in my blogroll. But those 5-6 links exchanges were all PR5-PR8 blogs/websites and most importantly only links from my niche. Google gives more weightage to links from the same niche. Furthermore, my articles went all over the web creating multiple back links about 644 on google in 1 month. This all resulted in PR5. Hope this helps those who are just starting up with their blog or maybe even senior bloggers
still not sure how an algorithm would be able to work out which link was paid and whichw wasnt. good thread though, we all need to be reminded about the value of content every now and then.
I have a theory that you might have luck that you did your blog on blogspot, either some claim that subdomais are treated as unique domains. I don't think so, because I've also such a case with big PR, but didn't do much for it.
Nice one, good to see someone that actually cares about making original content and understand that it is the correct way to get good links. You can expect a successful future
buying links is not reason for punishment , if you buy link from a normal site . if you buy link from a link farm , it will be a reason for banning
Good job on getting the PR5. I seem to bust my butt and have trouble getting higher than a PR2. I have lots of incoming traffic and several top ten listings on Google for very competitive key word phrases. I have seen the PR stuff go up and down and seem to just get more puzzled with it.
But are you seeing visitors go up and down as the PR does ? Don`t think so, forget the PR and focus on the visitors. Its them who brings money, not the PR.
Very true! I would rather have a whole heap of vistors than a great PR anyday. Although the higher your PR the more you can sell links for so either way theres an opportunity for earning.
Its not really right to say that PR doesnt give you income. If you have a lower PR, your rankings on a keyword will drop unless the keyword is really very unique. Higher PR will give you higher SERP..so if u r competiting for a keyword lets say : Ebook downloads, you have Pr5 and other blog using same keyword has Pr4...you page will rank higher which has more probablity that people would actually come to your site than his. You know that search engine visitors are highest revenue generators for you. Do you now understand the importance PR?
