New site for Blended Families. Started as a message board for the support group at my church and snowballed into a full on website.

    http://onefamily.bornmannfamily.com

With over 50% of families being blended families I think this will be well received.

If you are part of a blended family, I need contrubutions to the forum to get it started. It's a good deed and you'll up the PR of your Karma.. :D

    Thanks in advance

Thank you. Did you see anything that I should rearrange? I'm trying to pay for the development, webhosting, sub domain and promotion with Ad Sense so the better I can optimize the easier it will be.

    Thanks for the input...

Your adsense placement seems fine. How is your traffic?

Looks good. You might consider decreasing the text font size a bit so that it looks more professional/modern. I usually stick with an 8.5pt or 9pt font.

    Good Luck

I like the current design and content.
Just one comment, the google links in the header does not fit in with the rest of the design/ads as good as the others. Maybe remove this one.

It looks nice, but the header design does not seem to have very much to do with families. That cross-hatch design makes me think of things scientific and medical, which I'm sure is not quite what you're after. The layout and colours are okay.

I would suggest you get rid of the statcounter display at the bottom of your page, or at least change to a hidden one. This information is of no use whatsoever to your visitors (except to make you look bad, if you have far fewer visitors than they expected). Any good host will provide stats for you anyway.

I just launched the site this weekend so it's just starting. Right now it's just traffic from my church group since they are the only ones that know about it right now.

i don't think its hurry to put adsense code as you have just started, first try to bring more members and visitors and when visitors and members increase then place your ads there.
As some ads may annoy visitors they may think no content just ads, site started just to earn.don't make members feel this.
    just a suggestion huh.

I changed the text font to verdana 10pt. I thought the smaller text was hard to read. Thanks for the suggestion.

I see what you are saying with the header. It does look scientific... I'm no "blendedfamilyologist" that's for sure... I'm also no photoshopologist either so I usually struggle with the graphic arts part of the is website creation.

I think the webcounter is useful but I may hide it. The site is just starting but perhaps I should start the counter at a couple of thousand anyhow. I'll think about that one.

I created the template and i'm going to reproduce it in with other topics. With the ads that populate for this subject, might actually be helpful to my group. I can't click them to find out but the ones that I did type the url seemed to be useful links. As opposed to my REI site. Those ususally populate with Real Estate programs and such.

    thanks for the input though.

The last site I made with color got smashed in this messageboard... hahah. People hated it so these days I tend to stick with tried and true, white... I have a hard time making good color schemes. So I guess that's the reason.

I would change the font to a bit smaller and something serif like Times, more reader-friendly

Ok... I came across this trebuchet font on a website and liked the way it looked but have gotten neg feedback about it when I used it on the family site. Oh well, live and learn. I appreciate you guys' input. Thank you. I'll change it when I get some dev time.
