Hey guys, I have always read that you should make sure to only do ads that appear on the search engines for lets say google yahoo and msn...My question is why do you not want to do content ads at all? No one seems to really say...they just all say not to do content ads... Of course I'm talking about when doing affiliate programs...Just to clarify
Interesting question. I've not heard that before. I would assume though that there would be a little higher rate of fraud in the content section than in the search section.
That would be my guess, but I just wanted to clairfy it with someone to see if I was mistaken and if you really shouldn't do content bids and only do search bids.
From what I've heard, most people seem to have far lower conversion rates from content PPC traffic than search PPC traffic. I've regularly seen figures of 10x difference reported, but have yet to test content traffic myself.
There is more fraud in content ppc, but there is also still alot of good quality traffic in it so that is why people normally bid higher for search ppc traffic and lower for content ppc traffic. I don't think people stop altogether with content traffic as there is alot of it and the more traffic the better as longs as you can ROI
