[What if] Google Announces Bankruptcy

Discussion in 'Google' started by bobisawsome7, Jan 12, 2007.

    Hey,

What would you do if Google announced bankruptcy, and shuts down completely, including AdSense...

I am not looking for "Google is never going to shut down" kind of post, because we already know that. I just want you just to assume that Google is done, overwith, what are you going to do?

Humor is welcome in this thread, just keep it related.

    Thanks

I would go on with life, there was life before Google, there will be life after Google. I don't know about others, but I am not worried at all if Google croaks.

Google like anything else will vanish off the face of the earth.

I wouldn't mind since I never have made much with Adsense. I would mind though if GMail got shut down also.

I'd write an e-book about "The Death of Adsense."

    What? Been done?

    Or a simpler question:

What if Google bans (all) your site(s) with no hope of reinclusion from both the search engine and adsense ?

This is possible. And I m sure this will hurt equally :)

Well in a sense I wish Google would just croak they have become to big for their own good and programs offered by them have become a joke. Have you ever actually analylized the percentage of the earnings that Google gives webmasters using adsense its a joke on average Google only gives 10 - 20% of the ads click value to the webmaster come on we are the ones doing all the work and renting out our valuable webspace to Google.

Hopefully once YPN becomes public and if MSN chooses to launch a similar program Google will loose enough publishers to be forced to make some changes. Although with the size of Googles head they will probably never improve the adsense program even if it does mean death to adsense.

<<<<<< Now I must go pray to the Google gods for forgivness for my ill spoken words >>>>>>>>

Google is meeting a huge demand. There would be companies to fill this demand, though maybe not one single company. So I would not be/am not worried. :) Besides, I use Ask.com for searching anyway! :p

They give out about 78%. They say that on their own financial statements, lying there would be breaking the law.

Good luck with your anti-Google quest. :p

As you say it ain't gonna happen and even if it did it would have zero impact on the internet as some company would buy it from the bankruptcy lawyers

Or something would replace it within days

The SE is no big deal it is not irreplaceable

I'd buy all the Google stock I could get my hands on as it bottomed out and sell on the bounce, then retire. I'd then pay off my wife to leave, buy a couple of 20 year olds, a mansion and a bathrobe and live the life Hugh Hefner should have lived.

What if google is bankrupt, I will switch to Yahoo; what if Yahoo is bankrupt, I will embrace MSN; what if MSN is over..... I think I am the biggest one already at that time. ;)

That just means that they give away 78% of there total adsense earnings but that includes the big publishers that get the better paying ads as well. Just do a check and you will see that the average publisher gets far less than 78% of an ads value.

For instance if I use overatures keyword bid tool which the publishers for adwords are problably paying close to what overature shows for the price I see that the top bid for a keyword related to my site is $7.00 soooo if thats the case then why do most of my clicks earn me a mere $0.27 per click. And yes my site is in a competative niche which almost every popular keyword is worth at least $3.50 for top bid.

He said average, I talked about average. It is the average payout, no matter how you twist and turn it.
