    Anybody read this?

The rest of the article here.

It gave me a shudder... Or should we just leave it in God's hands?

It wont happen because the article is false.
Take a look at NASAs impact-risk-page. All known objects have the torino scale of zero.

Yeah right. Weather men can't get a 3 day forecast right in earths atmosphere. How are they going to get a 30 year forecast from a ROCK in SPACE!

I think even though it comes nearer to us we can burst or change its course with a nuclear Bomb which has a very great force

Actually without an atmosphere a nuclear bomb in space is not that powerful (speaking relatively)

You're right, with all the war going on now, and global warming.

I've heard if the asteroid hit, it'd hit in the Pacific Ocean. It'd throw things around a bit, but we wouldn't be completely destroyed.

That is, if we make it that far.

We'll be allright. A few years ago, we had something just like this happening, with an asteroid comming within 100,000 miles of Earth.

It will certainly be pretty powerful if you do it like in Armageddon and place the bomb inside ;)

Good thing we'll have killed each other by then from war. Otherwise this would be bad.

Have you totally ignored the fact that the torino scale for this asteroid is zero?

Thankfully, I'm studying to be a physicist. The part that sucks is that I'll only be 52 in 2036... oh well.. not like anyone in the US will be able to retire by then anyway... They will probably have raised the age of retirement to 85 by then.

What the heck do I care? I'll be a doctorate =P
