Lets say you mights website, and the person who sold it, said it makes for example $600 a month, after you buy it, you notice it makes no sell.
    What can you do?

that is a very good question. If you are going to buy something for alot of money. be SURE to pay with paypal or credit card because if you use paypal then you can file a claim against the person and get up to $1,200 + back assuming you win and if you pay with a crdit card then you simply contact the company that it is from and tell them the issue so they can reverse it.

This is very much needed to know information as scams like this happen everyday.

    Rep added.

I agree. I've only ever had to do two chargebacks for digital goods and both were successful.

Paypal tends very much to come down in favour of the buyer where there is no clear cut solution to a dispute, in my opinion.

Yes true. I purchased a forum and it wasn't at all as described, PayPal said too bad and closed the dispute. ;)

The thing is I'm buying this website for $3000, the person claims its making $850, for some reason I don't believe. So I don't know what to do, I really like the website. And it goes with my other website too, so I already know how to promote it well..

I think you should be ok as long as they have SHOWED you ACTUAL revenue stats. Paypal only covers so much.. if there is a problem then be sure you know the guys adress.

You could always try an escrow account. Agreed that the payment would be transfered after a given amount of time.

The thing is, when it comes to revenue the seller can always claim you screwed up and didn't get any sales because of your bad management. Disproving that is going to be a hard battle.

its truly up to you. This could either being a super amazing good deal.. or he could be scamming you. It would be a tough call...

if it where me i would not do it because there are much better things out there from more experienced senior members.

Whatever the outcome keep us posted so we know how you do. :)

This is the deal I made with him, I will send him $1000 he will send the website and 5 out of 25 places to advertise. IF those 5 places convert, I will send him another $2000 for the other 20 places to advertise.
    You think its fair deal?
