Should the oil companies stop funding and supporting these negative global warming "think tanks" this could open the door to the administration acknowledging the problem and focusing on investing or tax benefitting industries that would look to clean and non/oil fuels.

Aggressively searching for and uncovering both non-oil fuels and clean fuels would be the number 1 way to secure America's future.

I want to know this...how do we know we are having global warming? We only have official weather records going back maybe 150 years...so how do we honestly know? The earth has gone in cycles, we have been in ice ages before, and out of them...how come we arn't exiting an ice age now?

Yes, earlpearl, the government should send everyone with differing points of view from them threatening letters, it's in the constitution!

The British institute of science sent the oil companies letters warning them to stop spending millions creating fake scientific reports.
Looks like they finally listened.

And that's a good thing? Individuals should be free to spread whatever type of information they like, it is not the position of government to threaten them in order to stop the flow of information that might lead to a decrease in their power.

Apart from the fact that its not individuals, its oil companies funding people to set up fake scientific establishments and post phony scientific data which the oil companies will then quote.
That is called lying, that is why some people still dont believe in global warming and thats the biggest threat to our planet today.

Oil companies are run by the state? News to me...

I was unaware that having a minority opinion on global warming was lying, but assuming it is, how is creating statistics to justify your point of view illegal? The government does it 24/7.

I understand, you feel that corporations shouldn't have the same rights as people do because corporations just conspire against everyone to make money, muahahaha!

Who determines it to be false? The government? And how is lying illegal? The "lies" are not being used to commit fraud or theft so knowingly saying something incorrect is not a crime in this case.

What records do we rely on to prove global warming? It sure can't be all those Hurricanes that Al Gore predicted that didn't happen can it? I didn't know they kept computer records of the weather 1000 years ago...

Or how about tornados in Dublin Airport, first time in recorded history.
Or the millions of other things, permafrost readings, sedimentary records, or the fact that its pretty obvious that 6.4 billion humans burning 30 Billion barrels of oil a year, plus all the rest of our power usage is going to affect the enviroment.

Are you two retarded or just getting paid by Exxon?

How About the Huge Fucking hole in the Ozone Layer.
I suppose you want to blame water vapour for that?

What is it that makes you want to stick your head in the sand exactly?

No I'm not, but thanks for asking!

I am just for freedom of information and do not want the government to censoring anything it disagrees with regardless of "scientific evidence."

I didn't try to do anything.
I linked to an article that show beyond doubt that global warming exists.
If you think pollution isn't affecting our atmosphere perhaps you should go wrap your lips around a car exhaust.

Sounds to me like global warming = hole in ozone...which reminds me...the ozone layer issue came up 20 years ago...global warming, a myth al gore invented (Along with the internet) to sell a movie...hmmm...anyone? In the words of Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, MYTH BUSTED!!!

One more thing...if the ozone hole is closing, but yet more cars are on the road every single day...what does that have to say about car emmissions and global warming?? maybe NO CONNECTION!!!
