I thought this would definitely interest some of you. Google Testing Yet Another New Ad Format Peter Da Vanzo has just made an interesting blog post at the v7n blog regarding Google testing yet another new ad format. This time Google seem to be playing with different fonts and text sizes to help blend your ad units. At first I thought that this is nothing new, it’s simply another new premium publisher. However, when questioned about the new attractive ads Google confirmed that they are actually testing something new; “..the feature you’re referring to is one of several new features the Google AdSense team is currently testing for a very limited number of publishers†There is a quick screen capture below showing the new ads in action. Notice the bold text, new fonts and variety in text size. If you take a look at the site from which the image was taken, you’ll see that the ads are blended really well with the rest of the site’s content. The same font used throughout the sites layout is used for the title of each ad in the ad unit.
Why? The new ad format above fits in really nice with the website's layout. Being able to match fonts with our web pages offers a lot of flexibilty. The ads appearance will vary from site to site, and will definitely help against ad blindness. Don't you agree?
I agree, but i should say in this way, won't fit for maximum types of pages, now do u agree ? The Link font size is so much in bigger size, that usually we don't use. I can't predict how the CTR will be, but can try it...
I really like this new format.... It looks like it will fit well in the mix and it is good to make a change here and there.
It's not a new ad format. It's just a custom format option that's available to select publishers on an invite basis. Been around for years. BTW, here's the original post by Peter.
in that case, it's the one that wee have all seen before...... I thought maybe we were going to be able to use it freely regardless of account status... bummer
Thanks for the post! This page led to another, and another and then an idea that is golden. It pays to surf
If you look at the site the screen shot was taken from, you'll see the ads blend in with the sites content. http://www.masternewmedia.org/
My first impression was that this was just a premium publisher, that might be the case. Don't blame me, v7n blogged about it first
I'm not so sure anymore! My first impression when I looked at this was yeah, this is just another premium publisher. However, why would Google say they are currently testing new features? The freedom premium publishers have with ad formats has been known for some time...
