Wow, I've been thinking if someone in my family would come to this possition.

Well, try email the owner with the links to the images. They will proably understand and remove it. Otherwise You should take your time and speak with a lawyer or something. Has it caused any problems for your doughter?
    And so on.

    Good luck.

Ive not really got that much understanding of legal practices - you could probably contact myspace and they might be willing to take down the image(s) you refer to however the chances of that happening are highly unlikely i would think (although i'd be suprised if they didnt have a method of complaining or reporting accounts via their contact page?). The only other thing would be seek professional legal advice from a specalised lawyer (someone who specialises in internet related cases) and take legal action to have the images removed, although that is probably pointless as by the time you get anywhere the images will have already been seen by everyone.

It is posted anonymously and i cannot contact the person. these pictures create problems in the school because my little daughter has to fend off attacks of her sister all day at school, and the whole county slut thing

now people are making calendars and all kinds of shirts and stuff with the images

Its hard to tell without seeing the pics, can you post the link ;) ;)

    Only Joking - Sorry.

Was/is there an age angle you could use? I.e. could she have been a minor? Can she claim she didn't consent to having her photo taken - was the picture a candid snap or a posed one? If she was say coming out of the shower, could you claim she didn't give her consent for the photo taking or something similar.

If not and she was old enough and the pics were posed, I don't think you have much chance BUT I'm no legal expert.

Myspace will have an abuse email address so you can email them and force them to take the pictures down. If they don't just say you own the copyright then they wil really have to take them down.

People are making calendars and shirts? She must be hot. :)

Edit: Did you even look on myspace?

you can stop myspace, but later it will pop up in another website..

sorry can't give you legal advice now, but what i would do in your situation is to think how can i help my family to deal with it. virtually there is no way to stop it

Sounds a bit untrue? Why would people do that? Wasting money...

Even is she posed wouldn't she have to sign a model release form for the pics to be used publically? I don't know but you might want to look at it from that angle. If her friend took the shots the friend would own the copyright would she not?

I don't buy it either. The dialog just doesn't seem right for someone of such high standing. You would talk to your lawyer, not join a webmaster forum.

I got suspious when he posted about calanders enough... then he posted a link to a myspace page (couldnt view it though due to work website restrictions) - which was obviously removed by a mod - think this is more of a spam post than anything... i mean who would openly advertise what was presumably a link the page with the photos on...
