Any shop owners here experience more sales when offer two payment options? Paypal and another merchant like 2CO or something?
I would never buy from anyone that just had PayPal or 2CO... if they can't get a real merchant account, I don't trust them.
Well, Paypal only covers 103 countries out of the 200ish countries in the world so in theory, you be isolating 1/2 the world. It is also not a tool which corporations and people would use. The Paypal crowds are mainly private individuals. Of course, offering a wide number of payment options would allow people who are comfortable with that option to pay you. Of course, it would definitely be a good thing. With 2CO, your only investment is the initial $49/one time and that's it. It is just a small cost of doing business.
I don't think this is matter of trust, better if you use 2 or 3 processors means you are giving more option & leverage to your customers to pay and so you can increase the ability of your business.
You not isolating half of the world because the countries that are not support probably make up for 5~10% of the world population. So thats only 1/10 of the world that you are isolating. I agree with using more than on payment solution, but I also agree with another post in that if I had the choice between a site that only accepts paypal and one that accepts CC (away from paypal) and paypal I would be more inclined to use paypal on the site that offers both.
I tihnk with a market that is US-based only.. Paypal is not a bad option not to mention that the number of Paypal users seems to be rising regardless of ebay fees. However, a majority of Paypal users are ebayers, and Paypal did just expand their services to other countries... What are some good, price wise merchant accounts?
Yeah i'd like to hear what you're using too... 2CO seems ok if you're making over $1k worth of sales a month or weekly...
