Yeah i went up PR 4 on one site to 0 on another doh!!!!!

 

some of mine turned to PR0... the strangest update so far... some are not moving at all

 

I have one site doing the same and receiving 5x as much google traffic. Went from PR5 to PR0, hehe. I will take the traffic! Just makes it harder to do link building as everyone wants to exchange with PR4+

 

I can't recall an update or export that has been so botched up in a while as this one right now. It seems like this PR export is affecting the whole google network of services. Sites are dropping out of the index like flies. Others are enjoying the effects of those sites dropping out. One of my new sites went from a PR0 to a PR5 but is no longer in the index.

 

Maybe .....Plain out that Google isn't as stupid as everyone thinks they are?

Maybe.....They are devaluing all the paid Pr......

My site just went from a PR1 to PR5,

I'm happy with that...

 

I can, the Sept. 2005 update and the 3 or 4 that followed were pretty messed up. There were 2 week old sites with no backlinks going to PR 6 and 7 while sites that had established PR were not updated.

This one is just a reverse of those from 2005/06 as instead of new sites going up insanely, established sites are dropping insanely.

Look at it this way, you have the same PR as MySpace

 

One of my sites went to PR3, but the other one that has loads more backlinks and non rep links from relevant sites is still at 0, but the internal pages are at 3, makes no sense.

One of the sites I stopped promoting dropped to pr0 from pr3.

 

Very interesting thought.

Google getting smarter might explain why the only two pages of my site with IBL from Wikipedia have the lowest PR.

 

Ha ha Roman you beat me to it. I also remember lots of failed updates. Was it March/April last year when new sites were given PR5+ with almost no links? Except for possibly sept 2006 there has been a long history of errors with the PR exports.

Funnily enough I have a site that was given a PR5 in that spring 2006 'export', later fell to a more accurate PR3, and is now still showing PR3 but with internal pages mostly PR4. Definitely wrong again.

I wouldn't celebrate or commiserate anything we've seen in the last couple of days quite yet, cos it's just plain wrong or very very incomplete.

My big wish list.

Is that the Google Gods would be remain cosistent. But I guess the Google Gods like to remain static and unpredictable to throw off what they think is SEO experts. In my IHMO is ridiculous at one point or another. But anything to keep a spoof, advertising etc. alive for marketing and advertising.(lets look at what shoemoney does/I believe his name is shoemoney) Geez because if you look at how many PR updates are just on DP alone.

Anything to keep Goggle alive is great for advertising if you think about it. Almost equalivant so they can stay on top of the game. Anything to bring hype to each every new PR update.

To me PR is somewhat important. But how important to indexing and traffic. PR is great, but in reality what is it going to drive to your website as wise to traffic and interest. PR is great but how far will it bring you traffic, monetiary gains etc. Marketing is what is I think is the most valued thing here. Page Rank does bring value, but how much value in the end.

If you want to sell your site, that is one thing. But if you want to keep your site and market for several years, what does PR mean to a site..........That you did your SEO work. It will bring up some value. But how much, if you are selling a product vs a quick sale.

In some aspects, only PR as prestige that you have done something remotely right vs something advertising/marketing right. I think that doing something remotely right is first than advertising marketing right is next as priorty.

I find PR is only a step in the process of marketing your idea to the public. Than advertising in the right direction. I feel such sales ideas can take anywhere 1 month to 18 months to fully catch hold to public.

PR holds a minimal value in my opinion.

 

Just remember, the Google Gods owe you nothing.

However, I have heard that the sacrifice of a one horned three month old goat can help in times like this...

 

My site's PR gets back to normal PHEW!! I was monitoring 64.233.187.93 which showed PR0 eariler.. now it's back to PR4.

Average PR: 2.5 | Max PR: 4 | Min PR: 0

yes its happening right now. Toolbar PR is upgrading it values on my pages. Looks like most of my reciprocals have lost their weights.

 

It is most definitely happening right now. My site swapped over to a CMS and all of our pagerank went out the door when we switched. Now nearly all of my pages have a rank again.
