Adsense not performing well :(

    Hi,

I wanted to ask, if there is any other way to make a little revenue from a busy forum site. My AdSense is not performing well at all.

No matter how I present it to users, at the top, bottom or in between the posts, it always gets ignored :) I've tried different templates too. It just doesn't work.

If I get two clicks 3 thousand page views, I am lucky :)

So I wanted to ask if there is any other way to profit from a busy forum as it would be really great to get some cash to at least pay for the dedicated server I am running it on.

Are there any pay per impression programs? Because, if I get 1 dollar per thousand banner impressions, it would still perform 10 times better than AdSense.

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

    Joe

Adsense didnt work well on forums.
    Unless its DP ;)

    Try PPC, fastclick, caselmedia, tribalfusion.
Or maybe some CPA ads may work as well.

Try a CPA affiliate program and run relevant offers to your audience. What type of forum do you run and what's the demo of your traffic? Maybe I could help with what offers to choose..

The best CPA's are MaxBounty, Hydra, Azoogle, CPA Empire.

Adsense is very strange in that it either seems to work for a site or it doesn't. Although placement of ads can improve things a bit.

You have an awesome niche market! I found a few pet and dog offers at Hyrda, but not at the other CPAs. Some are freebie offers that you can make around $1.25 per lead after your user enters their email address. Another one is for Doggy Steps which pays $11.00 per lead.

I would try them out, the freebies always convert well and should do well for you. You can mix them w/ your adsense. If you want to give me credit for the referral, PM me for the link to Hydra.

I don't get it, who would pay 1.25 to $11 for a lead to something free?
Sorry for the question, I am really just little puzzled by that.

You have nice site and approx. 500 unique daily, as I see from your stats. I've heard it is hard to earn money using forum. Learn from DigitalPoint - do exactly as he is doing :D for ad placement. If it doesn't work perhaps you could try Amazon ads. I have good experience with it. Perhaps you could rotate AdSense and Omikaze links?

And find cheaper hosting. You cannot afford dedicated with 500 uniques daily, IMHO. No way! And you don't need it. VPS would suit your needs for 3-8 times less.

    Nice site, anyway.

There are thousands of companies that pay for targetted customers. The $11 offer I mentioned was for an actual product that only pays if your visitor purchases the item.

My best advice is to at least *try* a CPA program to experience more options of monetizing your site. There's also CJ, Linkshare, with tons of offers. Try them out.

Thanks for your words guys. You've been really helpful.
Anyhow, I am getting almost 1000 uniques these days, so it's picking up and profit none :) haha
Ah, and of course it's not only site I am hosting on that dedicated server :)
But this one has a potential to be a good one and it still doesn't make any money. Practically nothing. It won't pay for 2 good coffees a month :)
But still, thanks for trying to help. Amazon could help... that is a good idea.
I'll have to look at it.
    Any other ideas?

adsense does not perform well on forums. there are some tricks you can do to constantly rotate the colors of your ads to prevent ad blindness. Also try other advertisers that can work with adsense. Intellitext or Kontera. they put links directly on keywords in your text.
