How to understand a parked domain ?

I use cpanel, I have parked 1 popular domain of mine onto some other domain.
The parked domain has 67 backlinks according to G. And for any link issue I have used this domain. Domain is from 1998 and has been popular since then. It has been parked for over 8 months now. The domain thats parked on to was not that good for the rankings. But the parked one did not loose any ranking since it has been parked. no:1-2 on my selected kywds.
But suddenly last two weeks, I have lost everything on this parked domain.
Also my back links.. now it shows 32 back links on G.
I thought that G, did not understand that it was parked and carried on with the rankings. But even G understood that it is parked and dropped this domain, why PR4 continues.. currently and was PR4.

So does anybody have any idea what is happening ?

It sounds like Google decided that directing its users to a parked domain was useless and decided to stop.

Maybe people stopped linking to the domain as it didn't have any useful content for their visitors?

Dont think so.. Site is still in very good condition.. contents/picture gallery, popular subjects etc..
Thanks for the thought.. But it must be something else..

You say its a parked domain but then you say its got content? Parked domains don't have content.

Yeah its parked, technicaly.. but when opened by browser it shows the content of the base domain. Try it your self. Base domain is www.gokusadasi.com and www.aboutkusadasi.com is parked on to gokusadasi.com. And address bar/image files etc they all come from the parked domain So once again it is not easy to determine / understand that its parked by average visitors. I have done this to buy some time untill I prepare a better site.

Since both sites are exactly the same they have probably been flagged as duplicates.

Google doesn't show many links. Some of my sites have twice as many links as 6 months ago and yet Google shows half as many. Thats just the way it is.

Use yahoo to check links instead.

    Yes it is true

Actually Google indexes all the back links form websites but it has been programmed in such a way to display less no of links

    also check via live.com

    Thanks for the replies.
I have found a solution untill the new site is ready to launch..
Using php, created a function that detects the domain and inserts/changes lines. Do you think this would help for the time being ? I mean for the spiders ?
