    Hi all,
    What's the best way to record just the audio from a Youtube video? Not looking to steal any music from music videos or anything, just trying to rip some audio from a friend's skit. I have a cheapo sound card and don't have a microphone. Is there some program to download that will monitor audio and record it?

    i like jDownloader just copy and paste the link in and you can choose the format you want it in ie MP3, MP4, AVI what ever you want

    I'd use one of the 'Youtube Downloaders' listed above, and then put the video in an editing program. Once your ready to encode the movie, make sure to encode it as an audio file (MP3, WAV, ect)

    u can try orbit downloader, I've been using it for a long time. it is able to save and download any streaming video from youtube,Google Video, Myspace, Metacafe, Dailymotion, iFilm, Music, eVideoShare, StreetFire, etc. off to your computer's hard drive free. Your downloaded youtube vidoe is flv video, you just have to get a flv converter to extract music from flv video to mp3, and then sync it to your iPod or CD with iTunes. I always use Emicsoft FLV Converter for all flv conversion

    For Windows, there is an application called "YouTube to MP3". That works very well. You just copy the URL to the clipboard and paste it into the app with the Paste button and click Download.

    There are a lot of software out there and the only things that you need to do is just search for it. Just type from your Google or Yahoo what you want either free one or software for expert (this one you might need to pay). Check for their description and if it is as what you need then download it.
