The recent French Pork Soup issue where Paris authorities refused permission for a far-right group to distribute free pork soup has me wondering about the 'pork thing' -- why do some religions forbid the eating of pork? What's wrong with it? Why is it considered 'unclean' or whatever?
Its great I enjoy the taste and flavor As for the religious angle this thread will get many replies on that one where is AGS he will be along very soon with some ribald comments about pork soup, crispy pork etc etc To most non-Muslims, Halal just means "no pork." For Muslims, Halal is a way of life. More details here http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/08/10/bloomberg/sxmuk.php But each to their own if they keep it in their own backyard. Which is where one of the problems lies they may be visitors or residents in a foreign country and they immeadiately expect every man and his dog to have Halal Food at their 'beck and call'
Halal is much more than 'no pork' - the method of slaughtering of the animal is especially critical with prayers said and the animal having to be completely bled out. I have no idea what the issue is with pork myself ... my tummy rumbles just thinking about the bacon sandwich I am now going to make myself for breakfast.
Hi there, This is one of the scientific proves that shows the harmfulness of pork meat. http://nooran.org/en/Q/4.htm hope it helpes, sami
hi, why would Muslims expect every man and his dog to have Halal Food???how would they get benefit form this??
There is nothing especially wrong with eating pork. It is just an ancient misunderstanding perpetuated by the unthinking of religion. Red wine messes with your liver
A muslim does not want every man and his dog to have Halal food. A muslim may choose to eat halal food if he wants to or not.
You are making me hungry now Sounds delicious cannot find good one's in Asia I spent a lot of time in the Middle East and one thing for sure due to the heat very difficult to keep pork fresh in those temperatures if it was available which of course it is not
One of the main reasons is because the Creator of man (God) who also created all creatures commanded man not to eat it, he did this for a reason, uncooked pork has worms that can kill you, pigs are filthy animals that will eat most anything including human feces. Many swine live in cesspools and pillage around in the bog where sewage is dumped from the most ancient of times. Modern day swine are cross bred for fast growth and are injected with growth hormones, when humans consume this meat and fat (lard) it induces obesity which in turn leads to diabetes and cancers.
Pigs sleep and root in shit. That's a filthy animal. I ain't eat nothin' that ain't got enough sense enough to disregard its own faeces. but ..Bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.. i am a pork eater
Pure fat tastes good when you mix spices and seasonings in it and smoke it, but that does not make if fit for human consumption in any wise! Consuming fat causes obesity and cancer and that is why lard was removed as an ingredient in most processed foods years ago, it was very common in many processed foods just 10 years ago.
That used to be the case. It is no longer. Berkshire Pork, for example, is raised naturally, and is one of the finest meats out there. It can be cooked to a blue medium rare without issue.
Judaism wise, Pork is not eaten because it does not meet the qualifications of a kosher animal. A kosher animal needs be a ruminant (chews its cud) and have split hooves. I'm not really sure why the pig is specifically viewed as non kosher.. A Camel or a rabbit are just as unkosher.
Eating or not eating is upto us., But Still Beating a dog to death is not good But A Very informative reply from anthony
No, I say it, because I know it to be true. I am a chef, and I use these materials. Do you have something else in proof, or just your usual?
I get the idea that nematodes in pigs were, historically, a grave danger to human health but surely modern techniques of rearing and cooking have eliminated the danger?
