Hey guys well i've had my eye on a domain name for a while that I would really like to have. It expires in may and i've already contacted the domain owner about it. They want $30,000 for it. I obviously don't have that kind of money and was wondering if there was a way to get it? I don't know if they're going to renew it or not but I was just wondering. The domain is 4 letters but it isn't an actual word. I know 4 letter domains are wanted but for $30,000 for a misspelled domain is a bit much. I'm not going to post the domain so don't ask please I was just wondering if you guys knew anyway to get it? Thanks
If they don't renew it, you could look out for it on tdnam.com, but will most likely have alot of people keeping there eyes on it..
The odds are that if they received buyer inquires about the domain, they will remember to renew it. Especially if they are under the impression that it is worth 30k..
There are two ways. 1. you can wait till the domain expires and register it again after it get deleted. 2. pay 30K for BIN (try to negotiate with the owner on the price). I don't see any other option.
Are you asking for a sneaky way to steal it? It's 4 letters and the owner thinks it's worth $30,000. I'm sure he'll spend the $8.88 to renew.
FYI Tdname only picks up godaddy expired names. You made a mistake contacting him/her so early. If you really want the domain, i would suggest negotiating down or find an alternative.
I'm not looking for a sneaky way to steal it I was just wondering if anyone knew a possible way but yeah I guess you guys are right.
Do not ask a question like this, ROFLMAO! I would rather ask, is there anyway to get google.com for free?
Thanks for your negative rep. Unfortunately, you are asking for something phishy. Do not complaint for me to point it out. There is no legit thing called "trick" to get something for much less than what it should be or even free.
Hi Rhythm, I assume from the $ amount and the price asked that it's a dot com? Basically the owner of the domain is in a strong position. He/she/machine has bought an asset that will probably appreciate over time, and if he decides to build on it, could make it even more valuable. So it is a mistake to assume that because you think it's a random bundle of letters, that he does too. There are quite a few four letter domains still available at a much cheaper price than that guy is offering, and AFIK some still available to reg, so unless it's important to you, then buy another. If you are still set on getting this one then here are some options. The buyer probably paid $6.99 for it so is probably quite flexible on price. It is a negotiation so treat it as such - i.e. a) don't show that you're dead set on buying that one b) come back with a much more reasonable price that you are prepared to pay (in fact come in lower than you're prepared to pay so you have some room for negotiation) c) time is on your side so don't fall for any buy now tricks. Use whatever arguments you have in your armoury but generally not slating him or his domain. When someone offers to buy a domain off me and starts off by trying to devalue it buy saying something like "it's not even a word", or "if you don't sell me this then I'll buy another", then I know they're not serious and can get lost straight away - end of discussion. Useful arguments are for instance, comparative sales (a la dnjournal.com), multiples of revenue on his domain (e.g. you are offering a return on investment that exceeds many years of parking revenue he may get etc), so that he knows you know your business, and you can put some sort of cap on the wild price he is asking. Also, you can offer quick payment, offer to pay escrow costs or whatever you can think of to encourage him to sell. If it is a typo, and you own the trademark, you may be able to go through the wipo system, but that's a whole different game. . . best of luck eh?
Hey guys alright this message is for everyone. I felt a little attacked when I posted this message by some of you but I don't blame you I read it over again and I guess I did sound like a scammer. I will admit that. I didn't mean a way to scam or steal the domain at all. I should have specified it in my post better but that was my fault. I do apologize to everyone. Also AlienGG I never meant to offend you if I did I was simply agreeing that I would like to see a post like that. I didn't give you a negative rep & I'm sorry that you felt you had to give me one. Thank you eh? for the great advice That is what I was looking for NOT a way to scam the domain at all. And yes it was a .com. Sorry for the confusion everybody. Thank you
It depends on what the original word is. FYI: Laon.com was sold for over $500K on snapnames last week.
