What if I clicked on my own ads?

Pretty stupid right? I'd probably be banned. I've read that Google will investigate if some user (not the owner) clicks on the same ad, twice, to eliminate help from a friend or relative.

But what if one single user clicks on every link and ad of that page, just once? It's pretty legal, right? What happens if that person has dynamic IP? Ehehe...

google also tracks how long the user stays on the site, click behaviour, maybe even plants cookies and what not to prevent click fraud. Trust me, there is no way to trick Google, just dont try.

Not to mention you can earn far more if you make a good site, with good content and real visitors.

Don't do it! They will certainly find out! While the accidental click is unavoidable, you really shouldn't do it on purpose!

I did once, and I immediately emailed them and the next day I got a reply telling me to not do it again, along with a bunch of links to things that said how to not click links

Today Erik Schmidt announced at CES that they implemented FCS. It's short for Fraud Click Shock. They partnered with Logitech, Trust, Apple and Microsoft (and some more hardware vendors) so now when you click your own ads you'll get a shock at USB's maximum charge (non-lethal). They had to lobby in the White House for years but with the new terror bill in effect it passed. They based their research on Pavlov's findings about dog training called conditioning.

Saying that you cannot trick Google is a very strong and incorrect statement. If it was true then you would not read in the news every so often about how widespread click fraud is on Google's ad network. Google is good at detecting click fraud when the users are naive but not so if you are very familiar with Internet tech. Then again, I am a naive user so what do I know?

With a single accidental click, my email was sent the next day, too.
I was really very surprised when the money stayed in my account.

Since they are already paying someone to read my email, why not bother to fix it, to help their (Adwords) customer?

I have clicked on my own ads--accidentally. A few times I did it myself, a few other times someone else on my own IP clicked my ads.

What happens is you simply do not receive any credit for the clicks--no impressions, no clicks, no money. You do not get any emails, no warnings, nothing. But that was with less than 7-8 clicks. I do not know what happens with 10+ clicks.

I have heard of a lot of users getting banned and some said they didn't even click on the ads, but who knows. I run adsense on my site and have clicked a few ads before. The only times I did was when I was actually searching for something and the search ads matched what I needed. I still have adsense up and working, so I assume there is some threshold that you have to cross or some unusual behavior. As stated before, why not just create a good site?

Accidential clicks can happen, if you work a lot on improving the site and experiment with add placing. But if you think you can trick Google by changing ip, cleaning cookies or something like that, then think again. They will have other data like browser identification data, your os type, screen resolution, eventually your dynamic ip will be from the same ip-range. If they see that all clicks are from the same ip-range, same os, same browser, from someone using same resolution and you can only quess what else information they analyse, they'll ban you on the spot. Get the visitors that will click ads for you, that's the only way the adsense work.

The ToS says don't, so don't.

Click fraud is theft. You are stealing money from the advertisers.

Im not trashing anyone, I value everybody's advice, I was just messing around.

Is it okay to have my girlfriend click on every ad of my page? It's not clicking twice on the same ad, just clicking one time on every ad on the page.

never click on your own ads. If you accidentally clicks it, just dont "accidentally" click it too often. Otherwise, you run a chance of losing your adsense.
