What do you think the most profitable website in a two or three month time period is?

    Comments are appreciated!

I can't give a specific example. But they're the sites that spend absolutely no money on advertising, but offer a free and useful tool or service that everybody loves and wants to share with friends and others.

Myspace is a good example I guess but they're going down the toilet.

I honestly don't think so. MySpace is just expanding. It's going to take a long time for that to go down. Where are you getting your information from. And, what are some other types of sites that are profitable?

Joke/entertainment sites? How do they do?

That is impossible to know because one site can make 10,000 but with 9,500 in expense while another could make 1,000 with 400 in expense. The latter will be more profitable but not necessarily more succesful.

here i will give you an insite and my idea to make quick money. Start with research or a starting business or a huge project under development, and for that development start your own site offereing mods for that software or other services. you would make a good amount of money, because u would be doing somethign different.

This is my idea, I did with with Alicia - I own Aliciaskins.com and I tell you in three weeks it's been up, I been gaining profit everyday.

To be honest, I think the easiest thing to make a lot of money with in a short amount of time is an entirely new, novel idea, the kind that is all over the social sites.

I really don't think you can make a lot of money with a new 2-month old website...that's unless you are extremely lucky.
It takes time for people to know about your website and for search engines to give you a good ranking.

Well, where are you getting THAT information from? :)

A website's popularity, especially quick profitable websites you're referring to, lies in the hands of the visitors. The more visitors, the more $.

Myspace is filled with uncontrolled spam and porn. Facebook is starting to grip the social networking area and that is my basis of saying what I did.

Myspace will die within 3 years.

Does this statement have any research backing it? Where are you basing this information from? There are plenty of sites that have a very large ROI in a two month period. Take proxies for example. My friend make a small network of approx. 6 sites and he made a ~$1500 profit. And his network still had a PR of 0, yes zero. Another friend make a network of 50 sites and made mid-high $XXX a day off the ads alone. And he sold this for 11.5k and he had it for 3-4 months.

I don't think PR doesn't matter as much as YOU may think, google takes forever to update it and the value of a site is more or less based on the traffic and revenue. If someone were to buy a site entirely off its PR, they would be stupid.

What you want chuck is the same thing that we all want. If you want to make some 'slimey' cash you could make a crap ebook, spam search engines, spam email addresses and make a good few thousand in a few months. You could even make over ten thousand, but if your trying to make some 'real' money, then don't waste your time on a 'quick fix' because it will die and you will be back to the drawing board.

Want to make tons of cash on a full time basis find something that you enjoy writing about, and start writing and writing and writing. Then when you get tired of writing, write some more.

Then use your writing as a way to develop a base of users, then harness your base of users to earn you money. This way the whole system becomes automated and it keeps on growing, then your just putting cash in your pocket.

Just a hint, don't start a free image host, they make money although need loads of pushing and tonnes of development and time. I spent about $150 on a site in advertising, although designed it myself and optained an image hosting script a while back so, managed to sell for $200, although never made much in the way of adsense in comparison to the amount of bandwidth used. Mine ended up swallowing over 2/3gb a day.

That's very ironic, because I had started one. I am selling it right now on DP...

I'm looking for just different types of profitable websites.
