Banned domain

    Hi all,

Back in September i registered a domain.
It was available and it is about a topic that interests me a lot.

Now.... i tried to put Adsense ads on it. Does not work...
Strange. I have been an Adsense publisher for the last year and always followed Google`s guidelines and policies.

So i contacted Google. And you guessed it: domain is banned because the previous owner did not follow Google`s guidelines and thus the domain is banned from serving ads.

Here is some of the email conversations i had with "Winnie" from Google:

    Hello,

I have been using on all of my websites for some time now. All goes well.
Now i have acquired a new domain and want to put Adsense ads on them.
But the ads do not appear while i know i used the right code and placed the ads in a good postition.
So i am thinking the domain was used by a spammer before? Or somebody who did not comply with the TOS and you have banned this domain from displaying Adsense ads?

The domain where i want to place ads on: http://www.com

If so, could you please review this? I would like to display ads on the website. I never ever do anything related to spam or against Google TOS.

    Thanks in advance.

    Reply from "Winnie":

    Hello Andre,

Thank you for your email. Because your site was found to be in violation of our program policies at one time in the past, it is no longer eligible for participation in the AdSense program.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Winnie
    The Google AdSense Team.

    I replied again of course:

    Hello Winnie,

I understand that in the past there may have been violations of your program policies. That is what i already suspected.
However. I am the new owner of this domain. I have registered this domain on September 19 2006.
I do not know the previous owner. I also have no idea what he or she has done wrong. All i know is that i am not the one that violated your program policies. I never have and i never will.

I have been using AdSense for half a year now. My publisher id: ca-pub-**********
There have been several emails from me i sent to AdSense support to make sure i always follow you guidelines and policies.

I would really appreciate it if you could have another look at the situation i am facing and hope you will allow me to display ads on my new website.

    Looking forward to you reply.

    Sincerely,

And now the latest reply i got minutes ago:

    Hello Andre,

I realize that you are not associated with the violating account, however, this URL is not appropriate for the AdSense program and we will not be re-enabling ad serving to this site.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Winnie
    The Google AdSense Team

    NOW What?!?
Please help me out with some advice?

They wouldn't let the site in even if it hadn't ever been banned because it's inappropriate, is the gist of winnie's last email

You have no chance of monetizing it with adsense.

You could show the ads in an iframe or something, although that might be against the TOS.

It was very clear that the domain is not allowed in google adsense. So no choice man either you wait until ur domain get expired or sell the domain or try other google alternatives to show ads.

Get rid of the domain. You will never monetize it! I had this problem too and so did several people that I know.

    Sell, sell, sell.

I just don`t understand why this domain would be inappropriate? It is a purely informative newssite.
I am gonna keep trying to get them to say OK. Damn.
Any other contextual advertisers out there that may be worth it?
Or do you guys have an idea for a sales/affiliate site?

    No, you're not.
You can always run ads from some other PPC . There is a list of alternative to adsense on this forum, try search...

Always look on the bright side: at least they didn't cancel your account! I read people got canceled for such unbelievable reasons...

Which site? Terrorist or SEO and webmaster news?

Terrorist is a cool blog-type of site. I see you put a lot of effort in it.

SEO is also cool site; I like the design and blending. But is it about SEO?

I see you have quite a network megarooms. Congratulations!
I'm still concentrating on just one site (still with extremely low revenue), I don't have enough time to build other...

    Thanks for your kind words.
I mean the terrorist site. Decided to go with Amazon and CJ.

The seo link is a redirect to megarooms.com.

Anyone that would like to comment on my new monetization setup?
