Yup I'm also on his list and have purchased nearly all his books except The Adsense Code. But I was really shocked to see his report about Kontera.... its totally against Adsense TOS...

I have never known anyone in the internet marketing field with higher ethical and moral standards than Joel Comm and anyone who has ever worked with him on any one of a huge number of projects will attest to that.

You can argue the AdSense TOS a hundred different ways and get a hundred different responses......calling him a liar is an absolutely ridiculous statement and anyone in the know is aware of that.

    AdSense Code page 181:

"Just remember that Google's Terms of Service do not allow other context-driven advertising on the same page as their own program."

    AdSense Code page 182:

"I [Joel Comm] use Kontera on my personal blog at JoelComm.com..."

Nowhere in this book does he say that Google and Kontera can be used on the same page.

Furthermore, after reviewing his blog, I don't see where he is even using Kontera.

    Who knows...but I doubt he's lying.

Um, dude. You're replying to a five month old thread here. The whole world has changed in that time. I've grown a ten foot beard, and we all travel to work on hover boards.

I'm pleased to announce that according to Google's clarification of their terms of service, publisher MAY have AdSense and Kontera on the same pages! It took them a long time to come to this , but it is now part of policy.

See my blog entry for more details on this policy clarification as well as Google's word on image ads and running their own ads on the network.

Big whoops. I've been using Adsense and Vibrant Media (the same as Kontera, ad-wise) for years now and so has a billion other people. Adsense always says no if you ask them, but they never do anything about it.

AdSense policy states that you may use other advertisements if they can not be confused with AdSense ads. Read the Policy.

"In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads cannot be confused with Google ads."

    Read it again!

With that stupid 3 cents CPC, it doesn't really matter if it is allowed with adsense or not. I finally took the crap out of my site when at the end of month it earned me an average of 0.03/click. Kontera sucks ... honestly

I agree. I was happy with Kontera until a few days ago. CPC is almost nothing now. Started out great. I tink I'll try Intellitxt. :(
