I'm somewhat between being agnostic and being an atheist. Probably more inclined towards the atheist side. Simply because this idea of "God" is a mere superstition. Maybe there is some "force". Who knows. But until the guy decides to show himself or some sort of an evidence is found that shows that "God" exists, the only real thing that can stand as a fact is logic and science. It's funny how believers say that the world could never have been created through an accident... Since when did our pale blue dot take an immense part of the whole universe...
I am a agnostic. There is presently no way, no religion, and no one to prove there is or there is not a god. I am more insterested in human potential instead of worrying about if a god exist.
can you define the word 'god' for me and I will be able to let you know if I believe in him/it or not.
yes I do, there is God and he is always looking at stocks i buy for what ever stock I buy, loses vaolue the next day and stays low till i hold
Yes, I do believe in God. Even scientists accept the fact that there are things in this world that they cannot explain. For instance, Darwin's theory still has a lot of loop holes that had not been filled up to this time. If the world had been formed, as the Big Bang Theory claims, then where did those elements come from? If man is from bacteria, then, where did those bacteria come from? It is a matter of faith, and if you do not have faith, then what could be the point of living? I mean, what is the point of living if you are just living to die in the end? We do not see God, but we can feel Him and He is omnipresent.
The world of Science does not claim to know how life began, that would be very arrogant. Only religion is arrogant enough to claim to know the source of life So if god created life, who created god?
Religion is often the enemy of God. Religion requires people NOT to find god so that they can claim to speak for god. do not equate religion (especially Christianity) with God. In fact I (and im sure "it") dislikes the term God. As for who created god. wrap your mind around this, god=light=infinity it exists outside of time. space and time are the shadow/darkness/lack of infinity god creted the universe/space and timea t the big bang by withdrawing from itself and injecting an aspect of its energy/light inside to create the finite. (which ironically needs to exist for infinity to exist) Ask a quantum physicist.
i believe this topic will really be a very long one. the debate on whether or not God exists had been there since ancient times. faith depends a lot on the environment where a person grows up in. if you are born in a family that believes in God, then, you will most likely believe in God. if you came from a family that doesn't, then you end up not believing.
Are you saying that God dislikes the name God? If so, then what do you suggest we call God, and how will we know if God likes that name?
Regarding Darwin's theory, yes there are still many loopholes. As there are with religion. Note that it is still a theory, not a principle. Regarding all these elements, only fundamental elements were burst into the universe after the Big Bang. Such elements through various procedures created other elements. Naturally and through accident. This is proven through the creation of more elements, except done by humans. Bacteria. We're talking accidents and chance here again when the age of the Earth was fairly young. The right conditions needed to exist for such chance of a bacteria to be formed. Scientists are hoping that this will happen with Europa (Jupiter's moon) as they see it has a perfect condition for such chance to occur.
Not so much the name but the concept that is applied to it. Lets face it, we are a species that is stupid enough to claim that we are made in the image of god when we actually made our concept of god in our own image. And a quantum physicist probably knows more about the sentient force of the universe than any priest. He might not call it God but he is aware that it exists.
You are right about the god theory surviving because parents teach it to their kids. If it wasn't for this well-intentioned brainwashing the whole religion thing would have been marginalised many years ago. There is always an active thread about the theory of god because its such a simple and widely known theory that everyone has something to say about it.
You've hit on a little paradox. We came up with the theory of god because we are the smartest being on Earth and we can't accept that we are just one of the many species of animal to live on this planet. And this widely accepted theory is absolutely idiotic when studied in a logical manner.
We DO know the source, we don't know the method. Sounds to me like you're the arrogant one, who, refuses to hold your own beliefs up to the same standards by which you judge others.
I don't think I've been arrogant in any way. So you claim to know the source of life in our universe? Now thats arrogance
Not any more than claiming that specifically my belief is invalid. How can you admit you believe in something scientists can't even explain yet categorically deny what I believe in. Talk of arrogance At least, right or wrong, I believe in something
